I don't know [edit:as in I have no idea] if it's the best, but it's the one closest to what I hear inside my mind. I almost want to unlike the video just so I can like it again
This is an amazing performance. In my opinion - much better than Vengerov's or Krylov's (both using the arrangement by Bruce Fox-Lefriche). The technique is impeccable, without putting too much "violinist ego" into the interpretation, keeping the performance clean, clear, letting the music speak for itself. Bravo !
Epoustouflant !!!
There are those who say that this piece was not written by Bach, but by one of his students, and that it was written as a violin exercise. In any event, the Dm fugue is my favorite piece of music and she makes it look so easy that it nearly brought tears to my eyes.
@@Narragorth Yes, I am familiar with that theory. Actually, it goes farther than that and posits that the piece was written by one of Bach's students as a practice exercise for violin.
@@fearlessfosdick160 yea, but I can definitely hear "Bach" when it's played on violin. And there is a big difference between "vibe" (not just style) of Bach and his sons, for example, I can hear it. Similar here, I can hear some passages that are similar to other Bach's violin works. So I don't think that it could be written by Bach's student or son's. But, it's only my experience. Btw organ version is definitely written by Bach's student or son's and I can hear it too
@@Narragorth I am not saying that it is not written in Bach's style, of course it is. The truth is that I am not even sure that I buy into the theory. I am just stating what I read about it.
I bet she said 'wheew thank God' in her mind when she finished performing this piece. No mistakes, screeches. Everything was clear, great intonation, great timing. Bravo 👏 👏 👏
He pulls the strings in my heart ❤️ brings feelings forth into the Light. When addressing the harpsichord on a couple of CD's I have...he can tune me right up. Yep...Good Medicine!
¡FELICITACIONES!🌝⚘
This piece was probably initially written for the violin and then adapted to the organ so that explains why it fits perfectly with the violin ! Lovely interpretation 😍
idk i think the piano sounds great due to it allowing more notes WITHOUT the heavy overlay that organs give. as long as the piece has a call and response feel i love most interpretations. but sadly its frequently butched (to my ears) when the musicians just run through the notes. its a piece that has an acquired taste due to so many movements that overlap. (i am by no means a musical elitist but the call and response sounds so awesome that ANY OTHER Iteration just is horrendous, even worse so when the organ has no natural fall off (like the paino does) so that the notes just sound raucous. again that me speaking ill of both the composer and the player.. such a taboo i know. but thats my take. so yeah i love/ hate this piece depending on who and how its played. and she truly did this piece justice. trust me cuz i can play this song 7 times in a row just to compare and contrast different instuments and arrangements (solo, duo, small group full symphony, piano, violin, harp, horn quartet, and so on) at this rate I will listen to this piece just to compare its nuance. (all 8-ish minutes for 4-5 iterations, not including repeats, lol) again im not a music professional just a music lover.
This young lady is perhaps just beginning to understand the enormity of the musicians gift of music to humanity and to society, for the rest of us, we're still only beginning to comprehend just how colossal the gift of these very very few musicians who truly enrich our lives with music is. Of those of us who do our best to enrich the lives of musicians?................. they stand on a stage,,,,,,,,,, the gifts of that different society that does not stand on stage are equally real but too typically invisible..........?s
Been collecting as many versions of this on as many different instruments as possible. This goes towards the head of the line. Outstanding performance.
Wow , impeccable finesse and mature , sweet mellow tone . Eddie Van Halen would be proud of what he called the “ brown sound “ . A refreshing sound as compared to other contemporary’s of our time in the likes of Hilary Hahn or Anne -Sophie Mutter . Forgive my excitement , but may I ask the weight of your bow ? It’s moves so lightly yet sounds much like a viola bow . Thank you for sharing. This is impressive 😊
I agree with Patrice Avazeri. This transcription is just ...beyond. I have not heard it before. It could be one of the "partitas" and in many ways it is - but just 2 movements. The execution is flawless. I am speechless! The number of instruments for which this piece has been transcribed is remarkable!
Jean-Robert Dray Autodidacte Auteur Compositeur Interprète youtube.com/@JRDRAY007
What a talent! This is the very first piece of music I listen to as the New Year just begins. I am happy to have come across your video by chance. This was totally unexpected. Bravo!
