Tochni village is situated in between Limassol and Larnaca towns and is easy to find upon exiting the highway.
The village is a beautiful Agrotourism location, old village houses have restored using the traditional local Tochni stone found in this area. Many houses in this area are now guest houses and extremely popular with tourist looking for somewhere peaceful away from the busy tourist areas.
The village church is built over the river and is said to have been founded by St Helena after returning from the Holy Land, bringing with her a piece of the True Cross. It is said she found the village to have a lot of snakes and so gifted them cats in order to bring this under control. Many Cypriots come to visit this church.
Tochni Tavern is situated on top of the village and the views are amazing. We had a great meal and it was reasonably priced. The menu has something for everyone, traditional Cypriot dishes and European food. The restaurant is open daily from 1 - 11pm.
