Man, that's one cool messer! I've been a big fan of Peter Bruegel's art since I was in high school, so I definitely gotta save up for one of those! Does it seem like it could be used as a tool, or do You think it's more like a dedicated weapon? Cause I'm a bit worried about the guard coming loose.
It is not going to come apart. I don't think you can chop down trees with it, but it can certainly split firewood. I know nothing about the historical context, but I am guessing it would have been an all rounder back in the day, though I am sure any self respecting peasant would have a trusty bill hook for heavy tasks like hedging.
Congrats on picking one of these up. One of my favorite in his line-up. Did you ever weigh yours? I’ve always been curious about that stat. Looks like it’s sturdy but light. I’m all about these shorter messer.
