Great result to project if you have the shop equipment. Easier cheaper stand is a wooden heavy TV tray, mounted on a square base, raised backstop to keep pedals from sliding. Shifter could be attached to top depending on size, or a small square wood platform screwed and glued to underside of the tray on left or right side. Most countries have steering wheels on left side and center console shifters.
Moin, you made a fine RIG there I'm more of a hobby at ACC at the Series X and just looked at what material had accumulated over the years. I built my RIG completely out of wood and this is what it looks like now. It only has to be filled and then painted black with orange accents. However, it has become quite massive (1.72 mx 1.20 m). I built in the Gamechair as only I am allowed to sit in it. So he didn't have to go on any rails. Unfortunately, the options on the XBox are very limited. I took the 3 vibrators + control from an old massage mat, screwed 2 of them into the seat and the third to the pedals. Connected via the subwoofer of the Gamechair. Not as optimal as on a PC, but the result is astonishingly good. Engine vibrations, curbs or gear changes are simulated well. I can proudly say that I have made something fantastic for me out of "junk in the basement". Except for a few corners, I had everything lying around. I think it's great when someone thinks about it and builds something for themselves. Anyone can buy ... 😄 Definitely a nice video of you with a great result. Here is a very short video of my RIG in its current state. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BuATCe7t4Xs.html
The piece of plywood going between the two arms of the wheel platform would get in the way of your pedal setup. You could potentially have used a diagonal 2x4 for rigidity, and left room for pedals.
"I just used what I had lying around, it's easy!" What they have lying around....a whole ass wood shop hahaha Still a great video and you didn't say this, but I've seen it a surprising amount of times in the DIY community. Love that it's collapsible, such a great idea!
Nice project, but so speed up I could not properly judge if it was for me. I see you sell plans on etsy. But I won't be buying those as the video does not properly show end result (not sped up and in actual use) and it does not show pedals. If the speed is so people don't steal your plans that is silly. I can remake it from a single frame of the video. If I buy plans it is so I don't have to experiment with measurements. A convinience not a requirement.
Where are you located and how much did either materials cost you? $7 plans is fine, but if I'm gonna spend $60 in materials then I'm better off buying a metal one on eBay.
i bought the directions and the pdf's have their edges cut off, i can still understand what they are conveying, but the dang edges are cut off. if your going to sell something, atleast make it right man.
