Passed down from parent to child. Steatocystoma multiplex is a skin disorder characterized by the development of multiple noncancerous (benign) cysts known as steatocystomas. These growths begin in the skin's sebaceous glands, which normally produce an oily substance called sebum that lubricates the skin and hair. Steatocystomas are filled with sebum. In affected individuals, steatocystomas typically first appear during adolescence and are found most often on the torso, neck, upper arms, and upper legs. These cysts are usually the only sign of the condition. However, some affected individuals also have mild abnormalities involving the teeth or the fingernails and toenails. The condition is extremely painful. Afflicted individuals should go to a licensed dermatologist to have the sac aspirated and removed and an antibiotic will be prescribed. A spa setting is not licensed to remove the sac but can aspirate the liquid from the sac.
Thank you for detailing about these cysts- steatovyst!!! I'm glad you said they should be done by a professional doctor, not at a spa, because they are NOT ever remove the SAC,!!! The only professional that has a video, is Dr. Sandra Lee!!! She's the only one lve seen that knows how to remove the SAC!!!! You need to watch her videos at great length. You could learn how it's done,!!!
These kind of lumps are painful to live with, to treat, and too watch. Much sorrow for persons who live with this condition and can’t afford a doctor to remove the sacs.
It is a different type of cyst ( sterocystoma ?? ) that always has this creamy yellow inside. There are usually many and will always come back if the sack of the cyst isn’t removed and sometimes will come back anyway.
I’ve wondered that too. Here in America they seem to more of a raised bump and these are under the skin. Thankfully our doctors use numbing before jabbing a blade into the skin plus take out the sack.
The bumps are not as noticeable as the scars and bruises. I wonder why they want them squeezed. Are they itchy or sore or will they get infected? I would think it is better to leave them alone.
They hurt when bumped or pressed. I get how a person can have so many! They will have to endure this misery again because this inexperienced provider is ignoring the sac and not removing it.
Lack of control of finger/thumb grasps. If you merely pinch the top you're closing the pore back up, leaving pores not fully cleared. You must go WIDE and apply pressure downward. Pressure from left to right THEN pressure from top to bottom. Work on controlling the non dominant digits!
Steatocystoma multiplex can be caused by mutations in the KRT17 gene. It is often passed down from parent to child. Me parece que no son quistes en costa rica le llamamos pegas es grasa acumulada en diferentes partes del cuerpo. Los doctores no creen en las personas que soban y sacan eso pero el quiste es algo más grande y difícil de extraer esa es mi opinión.
