I think if you use a Zman TRD they work better, because the bait stands strait up off the bottom. I've caught smallmouths in shallow water just checking to see if my bait was standing up. I only use a 1/10 once Shroomz jig head. I've been using the same bait for three seasons, these things last forever! The more you beat them up the more buoyant they become. Pull on them and snap them, awesome baits.
