WOW......just....WOW....... This scene is hauntingly superb. 3:30 - 4:20 is sheer PERFECTION. The little growl he has in his voice and the steady, cutting way he delivered those lines...unbelieveable, he broke down Marty's confidence in vengence within seconds, and even made me feel a little violated the way he said it! This is Todd and Marty's relationship at it's most base emotional level. Brilliant scene and brilliantly done.

@@Justicia007geary was incredible & pulled magic out of his hat for decades. I guess im partial to rh as he had such dark dark material as a really young guy. Robin strasser & erika skezak in their scenes are incredible. When dorian & viki slap eachother in the crypt they really were out of breath & its not in anyway like ur watching two actresses. Erika even lost her voice & min after nora drags dorian out erika is still out of breath. Also when dorian is so frustrated that viki nailed her for trying to destroy victors remains she has dorian sound like a little kid crying " i hate her i hate her i cant stand her " its one of the best acted scenes by any 2 actors ever. Im glad across all mediums high caliber actors producers etc said dorian & viki were the best couple on tv.

Its ABOUT TIME somebody BROUGHT THAT UP to Marty. And to think, it ended up being Todd who brought her to that realization!

OMG, this scene is so powerful - the way his eyes rake over Marty when he says "and rapes her"....chilling! RH's performance is mind-blowing and the writing, well, you don't get anything like this nowadays. Thank you so so much for posting all of these!

I love the scene where Marty flashes back to Todd saving her from the car crash. It shows that she is conflicted over if Todd is bad or good.

It's like Ray and Andrew says "she has a conscience" but at the same time she has the chance to finally make her rapist pay. It's not an easy decision. I know Todd has the 'puppy dog eyes' but go watch the spring fling again, and you'll understand Marty's conflict.

I agree she literally left right before the came back what a waste. I watched some of tsj scenes and I always wished we would see zack and Powell again with todd. back in 2002 when we had to suffer through a year of blair lying again about jack being Max's then the island story with tea I kept thinking Todd is so much better than this i would have loved zack to come back then out of the 3 he was the only one that spent the entire time in prison nobosy cared about zack. I kinda would have liked to see zack motivations. before the rape he was not inhuman and he was going to be a doctor. Todd raped bc he was an abused kid who lashed out at Marty bc he had so much rage I also think he became obsessed with her bc he really fell for her but was so screwed up didn't know how to show it when they had their one night stand. she begged him to stay and maybe if he showed depth and held Marty like she asked they would be a couple . I can relate to that their was a guy who adored me but I was too young and stupid to reciprocate when I finally did it was too late and I became a little obsessed myself bc he treated me like gold and I blew it. I never did anything as terrible as Todd but coukd relate to realizing u do love someone who u had a shot with.

F#cking AMAZING scene!!!! Theirs the famous prob my favorite Todd line ever "vengeance is mine saith Marty... you better pray Marty you better pray hard that nobody else has to die for my sins" and Marty pushes the chair at him knowing he's right. Stellar! This is one of the top ever scenes in the Marty Todd saga. These two put on a clinic in every scene together . Oltl was at its best from 93 to the end of the hospital rapes. Powell and Rebecca I guess had to go so Roger could move into other areas and work with the older characters viki Tina blair max cord Asa Dorian etc and newer epic characters like David and yes Marty still new. I did love his friendship with blair and I've loved and not loved tnb bc she lied to him and shattered trust forever bc like he said he was like a new born baby learning again blair he trusted and adored and it was his first leap of faith and people he never had so sad she ruined it . Anyway love this scene love the writing the acting the music and this was the classic "turning the tables" scene that Malone loved so much , now Marty was being the monster in control not caring about Todd's innocence or putting away a serial rapist just to get revenge the irony is susan had the best chemistry with Roger all her pairings were awful including patrick IMHO. but if Todd never raped Marty he would have never stayed on the show past being a frat boy and the rape story is so iconic . so it's so ironic that Todd and Marty could have been a super couple . I think Malone knew this but wanted his cake and eat it too. I think he figured it was his luke and Laura but this rape was a gang rape and was so disturbing and graphic luke and Laura while not condoning it was not really shown and it was one on one. Gloria Monty gad the same predicament as Malone but she was able to back pedal as luke also was only short term but again the rape and his Chem with genie changed that. oltl with this story hit main stream major papers and magazines covered this story. I read about RH leaving in the new York post with a huge articke this was NYC paper . entertainment weekly covered this. the emmys they won just lightning in a bottle. thank you for putting these up their will never be a story or characters or this time again . at least we have you tube to share and so glad to see people still watching and love the comments

1:50 is a perfect example of the amazing way rh acts w/ just his face & eyes. Marty describing details of the rape ( then I feel she's justified in that moment in doing this to Todd what freaking acting & complexity cause when Todd's alone or talking to Ray or Hallie his lawyer I feel bad for him ) look how rh's face looks so remorseful w/o saying a word or scrunched his face up. His eyes & face just change. Incredible. Head writer MM Said this was the total key to that characters success the actors amazing ability to convey regret agony & self hatred w/o a word & w/o that direction. So basically MM is giving RH all the credit. I'd say his story outlines gave rh the ability to shine & Josh Griffith the co head writer wrote a lot of Todd's early evolution personally the actual break down scenes line for line. That man deserves so much credit for Todd manning as well. I'd say 4 people are responsible possibly 5 for Todd's staying on. Rh MM jg Linda gottlieb & three other actors he had the bulk of his scenes w/ Susan, Reiko & Sean m. Hard to believe those 3 wouod only be around in Todd's first 4 years sean & Reiko only a year yet the most important b/c early Todd & the show in 93 & 94 was next level brilliant. More than primetime. Something in the stars. It can't be categorized in any genre its that special.

Could he have anymore beautiful hair? He looks amazing!!!!!
@nattyps3160
@nattyps3160 2 года назад
He always had beautiful hair. I first noticed how gorgeous it was in a horrid scene. When he is yelling in Marty's ear ( "u messed me up royally now I'm gonna do the same to you " scariest last lines b4 an action ever. Thats exactly when Todd turned his most evil ever & hell began he told Zack to lock the door then Powell who did. Marty's terrified face knowing exactly what was about to happen Todd like an animal threw her on the bed...) his hair lol is barely to his shoulders as rh was starting to really let it grow out & it was so thick & shiny & healthy. His hair was always his thing like the scar. I did notice when Todd was most pychotic when he was still not yet a keeper just organically the writers kept going I loved his hair when he was at the beach house. Anyway I hated how they intentionally were making him look scary almost like a monster w/ the dark makeup under his eyes.

Who ever wrote this scene. Genius
@nattyps3160
@nattyps3160 15 дней назад
Josh griffith wrote all todds breakdown scenes & rh did the rest just by his facial expressions the eyes & eyebrow raises & the agony he showed on his face. He also admitted linbed a lot of lines he quickly threw in. The writets were very smart to have todd go from funny mean to that great sardonic dry wit it suited him better . What's funny is in interviews of rh his entire face & voice are like a different person. He's a very sweet sweet guy w/ zero ego. Even when the press was praising him he won an emmy his very first year there. Sadly rh was nominated for 94 & lost ironically to clints recast. Rh should have mopped up at the emmys in the lead but the e.mys always awarded older actors on for decades jusin deaz erika slezak Tony Geary david canary Kim Zimmer all brilliant but younger people who were even better deserved to win. The fact rh wasn't nominated for 98 when he ran the primetime special & for weeks at the lodge was center stage w/ so many vets and army winners & future emmy winners is sick. The guy also should have won for 95 where he had the blowout w/ blair where he snapped rhs eyes went scary cold & threw gee on the bed undid his belt taunted hee " doesn't this scare u just a little bit come one tell me : then he saw martys face a stopped himself or when blair miscarried & he wanted to kill himself or when he knew his marriage to blair was over again he wanted to end it he had all those great scenes w/ marty esp when he & marty had their fire side chat & told her why he raped her talked about his adopted mom who vanished & so much more.

Amazing..just amazing,the dialogur,the acting ,the chemistry from both.This scene could never be possible with TSJ and the writers they have now.I tolerate TSJ as Todd,but if this scene were to be done today,he would only play him all cocky and sarcastic,without a note of anger and self hatred that made the character great.I miss that Todd and hope he comes back one day.

Was she saying all of this crap when he saved her life? He carried her up a hill and waited until help arrived then got shot in the process...where was all this victim crap then? and why is it only Todd she talk like this to? Powell snitched so he's okay and she doesn't give the other guy a second thought? Damn I hate Marty she's worse than Marlena Evans on DOOL and to top it off their both shrinks.

You don't understand anything about the character of Marty, and you do not understand the depths of what rape does to a person. But you're right...with your logic, because he saved her life..she should forget being gang raped and run to the judge saying "you must set Todd free". I feel sorry for you that you have no clue the inner conflict of Marty and Todd. Even TODD gets it more than you do...

These where old posts....I haven't even watched this stuff in a while and simply commented in the heat of the episode....chilax...No I do not like Marty and never will nor do I like Nora but both were affected by Todd whom I only paid attention to due to him being Vicki's brother....for the record my mother was raped as a child, my sister was raped as well and none of them act like Marty at all....as of inner conflict....I simply never like her character to begin with and didn't understand why she didn't just either let it go or let Todd die....one or the other it was as if the whole rape was her obsession or something....again old post.

+TheGreatVictorNewman I'm very sorry for what happened to your family members, I don't understand why you don't like Marty ? Everyone heals from rape differently and the way Marty put her life together was very realistic . SH got hundreds of letters from victims who completely identified with Marty. Look you're entitled to your opinion, I think it's odd that you would like Todd, considering that facts. But to each it's own. I love Marty. I think the viewers went on the journey with her. I think SH is a phenomenal actress. Her and RH set the show on fire. I don't think Marty is "obsessed" with the rape, but it was a life altering event . And she had to relearn how to live. It's just like 9/11. I was in NYC, it's my home , but it's different now, and we all had to heal and learn how to live in this new life. Marty helped me so much and I think she is amazing . (I'm not talking about what they did to her in 2008) but the character got me through some of the darkest days.

Timothy Tademy Hi Timothy, I hate to disappoint you, but I actually agree with many points you make. I'm not going all "social justice on you" you're entitled to think however you'd like, I agree that is was a colossal mistake for Marty to get involved with Todd, however as you stated "they were in college and they were young". I'm very sorry for what happened to you in college. I certainly can relate to thinking you're invincible until you hit a wall. And I agree with you that Marty was thinking about her rape when she at first denied being Todd's alibi. However Marty ultimately does the right thing and exonerates Todd. What I find puzzling is where you get this information, "that I don't think anyone can be redeemed , and you don't blame me for hating rapists" from? You don't even know me. Yes I think rape is a horrific crime, but there are people who turn their lives around. Excuse me, if I'm wrong, but it feels like this whole comment is directed solely towards me .And it also feels that you think you know me and how I think and feel.. it also feels that you're speaking to me as if I'm Marty herself. Why, just out of curiosity "can't you blame me?" I realize this is a fictional show, however as a die hard, avid Marty fan, I do feel the need to come to her defense when I feel her character has been treated in an unfairly manner. While I agree with you that Marty was taking the law into her own hands by keeping her being Todd's alibi a secret, I also completely understand why she did. What you left out was that Todd was sentenced to 8 years in prison and didn't even spend 8 weeks in prison. He attacked her 2 more times after the rape and killed Suede. I think it's a normal reaction to want to see justice, no matter how skewed your thinking is. Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't go all "social justice" on you. I'm more curious where you get your information about me from? And why it's so important what I think?
