I love the comment he made to Asa about not wanting to be married again. I never saw that before and it explained why he was so slow to trust Tea. He hurt Marty, Rebecca broke his heart, and Blair broke his heart and destroyed his trust.
I feel like he was well healed from that prior to even meeting Tea. He and Blair straightened things out and were truly in love. I mean let's be honest he lied to Blair multiple times and hurt her too. I don't think it was a case of him being hurt in terms of why he couldn't be with Tea, It was a case of him being in love with Blair and unable to forget her.

Absolutely agree with you about the constant slams against women from the soap opera industry and the most disgusting of all is when they try to romantically pair a rape victim with her rapist. Much respect to Roger for his stand against rape as romance.
i love how roger really played ONLY todd's love for blair. he never played that same feeling with marty or tea, despite all you commentators, LOL :) i'm SO glad roger left the show before a horrific pairing between todd and marty. GH did that with luke and laura. for all the female viewers daytime has, they sure disrespect women left and right! i love roger for standing his ground. at the same time, he left when his s/l with kassie was so so good :(
Interesting how Todd was telling Marty that “he didn’t have anyone to go home to either...!” 🤔😍 I think he was waiting for her to give him a sign! The writers were definitely going to pair them together at the time! Their chemistry was amazing!! 🔥 If only their history was different! The thing about it tho is this is a soap. But their storyline was beyond realistic that it would’ve caused the biggest back lash. Ah, well! We will always wonder what could’ve been...
Asa & todd were down right bosom buddies. I hated when the show suddenly had asa hate todd a few years later for no reason . This must be where malone was laying the groundwork for todd & marty to reunite & he also was going to reunite blair & max( blech) The show was so amazing from 93 to 95. The head writer Michael malone definitely had an obsession with sexual violence. 1993 was the gang rape. It was brutal to watch. I was 12 & told my mom " I'm never going away to college cause of this " I was not kidding . My mom watched oltl since the 70s as a teen herself so I knew all the buchanans viki & tina as far back as I can remember. It was on everyday at 2. Then i started watching it in 89 bc i adored gabrielle & max & andrea Evan's tina lord . My mom recorded everyday & wed watch together when we both were home from work & school. I sorta stopped watching when they all left in 90. Then one day in may I was home with her & she was like omg Marty is in trouble. This was before spoliers & the internet. My mom didnt buy soap mags so I remember being terrified watching the rape story & my mom thought it was a good idea to watch together bc she wanted me to learn for the near future about boys putting things in girls drinks & not getting drunk at a party. So as disturbing as it was I think it was a good lesson like an educational thing. Anyway i was terrified of todd manning. He really was out if gos mind & the scariest villain I'd ever seen since austin Buchanan. I called my cousins telling them to watch as their mom , my aunt watched too. My cousin & I watched all summer & I can't believe I hated todd & was cheering luna to smack him.upside the head. My older brother thought todd was funny when he started saying " u think bc u want to be a man that makes u as good as a man " he just thought this dude is bad ass. Then all of a sudden my mom & I got huge crushes on him ! I know it's bad at that time bc it was when he stalked nora. He was so damn hot with the black hat & the army fatigues. Then I started to lose touch til my mom who was still watching was like omg natalie u have to watch with me blair & todd are getting together. So I was blown out bc I'm like todd & blair ? Asa 's ex. I still though mia korf the ameriasian actress still played her so I thought wow. Then I see kassie & I was really shocked. My mom was like I know they changed her race but shes Malibu barbie blair. So my point is back to malone in 93 he has the gang rape the trail todd plotting from prison him trying to rape blind nora a nod to an old movie wait until.dark . Then 94 the hospital rapes started. I remember a fan called some soap talk show & said once that was over " can the show just get a little less dark? It's been nothing but rapes for 2 years. Then in 95 viki is revealed to be molested by her dad at 7. So it seems to me malone has some issues about rape & child abuse. I will say that is a theme oltl tackled . I really was creeped out with Jessica being used to do kiddie porn & it was heart breaking to watch clint & viki have to watch that tape. Roger left again in 03 bc michael malone was rehired. The rapes started up again. Mitch raped viki & was Jesse's dad which really pissed me off. Then u had the new todd aka podd aka victor junior & blair saying he raped her & having marty come back to testify . I'm just saying rh was good to get out bc that was it rape story was awful. Oh & todd was raped by Margaret. It was like enough with rape !

The old & young alpha males of llainview & Blair married & had them both in love at first sight. To this day I can't believe I've never seen the original scene of Mia korfs Blair ripping Asa apart so bad he had a heart attack & w/ his pills within reach she left him there to die. If anyone has that scene I would pay good money to see it. B/c they recast Blair ( w/ a totally different ethnicity ! Which I'd love to have heard the casting & writers saying " oh we like this kassie as Blair oh wait Blair was ameriasian & kassie is literally Malibu barbie Blair? It's only a year later too. Oh well recast her anyway. I'll always wonder if they would have fixed Todd up w/ mia's Blair if they did here's the crazy part. Kassie originally auditioned for Tina lord. So Todd & kassies " Tina " wouod have been full brother & sister instead of oltls last chronological supercouple ( bo & Nora already were paired In early 93) tnb were the truest of suoercouples in they got the rarest thing 2 full children born on screen. On oltl only Tina & cord & viki & joe have that honor. On gh I believe only Frisco & Felicia & Luke & Laura got that honor. Carly & sonny I sorta don't count as it's not the original Carly, Morgan was much older than Donna & deceased when she was born. Jason & Sam almost had that honor when recast Billy Miller was to the audience Jason Morgan. So that's another reason I hate plastic surgery stories instead if straight recast. Also I don't count Patrick & Robin as their 2nd child Noah was born off screen & we never got to see that child as far as I know but I dropped gh awhile ago. Oltl never had close to another suoercouple again. I'm sorry but John & mt natarest had zero chemistry paired them w/ several other people. Including Natalie saying Jared was great big love. When bree Williamson got pregnant in real life & it was written into the show they decided to make the twins pregnant at the same time so they rushed after years this weird reunion for John & Natalie which started like the day Jared was buried. Plus Micheal Easton seemed bored in most of scenes & I never liked all the propping they did of Natalie first making her the real " Jessica " & making Jessica some random child that was returned when kidnapped by Allison. Then the audience went nuts so they stupidly made Jesse vikis kid & Natalie clints which was so stupid. I wish on thr last episode they made it that Jesse was the only daughter of Clint & viki. Plus making Jesse mitchs daughter was appalling making it the 2nd time viki was raped. Plus they changed history. Yes viki did drink the Iaced ice tea mitch gave everyone in his cult but they said that's when mitch raped viki. I recently watched those scenes & viki was already late in her pregnancy w/ Jesse. So Natalie got the rare blood hybrid that only cj & Sarah got, being both lord ;& Buchanan. Then they gave her the Todd manning treatment, only his happened early on & when the character was Def not here to stay the old feel sorry b/c this character was abused as a child. Her abuse was neglect & verbal abuse. Once they decided to keep Roxy on that all went away. The Roxy who first came on started trashing Natalie to her face. Later that was totally turned down to Roxy was just poor & drank & gambled living in ac so Natalie's abuse became living in poverty
Asa & todd gold. U can see here where the writets were trying to hook up todd & marty. Him saying to himself " a womsn i can trust " cut to todd again trying to save marty. "
"Stay away from her" That's the problem Todd could never stay away from Marty....lol I have watch many T&M scenes, and every time Todd enters a room and he see's Marty he always finds a way to get her attention,he could never leave a room without her knowing he's there or talking to her....Todd has always had an obsession with Marty. What song was that playing in the background with T&M anyone knows? I so loved the transition from Asa /Todd to Marty...and the line finding a good woman!
