Always gets me when dorian says " oh dear god" & blair says sobbing no no no " never felt so bad for Blair ever than I did when she heard Todd died. She was finally happy loved a man rich to boot lol & pregnant. She went from cautious excitement to such despair she fainted from shock. I loved that at the end of the show when Blair found the gold balloons Pic of her & Todd she told starr who was there too in her belly that this was the happiest moment still of her life. Think if Todd never went to Ireland I totally believe he & Blair never would have had problems had Like 5 kids & never divorced. When he returned & found her w/ Patrick he just couldn't get past it. Then he kidnaps starr & Blair never got past that so literally for 2 yrs of rhs return Blair & Todd never even kissed. That's horrible fan payoff. In fact I never got why tnb were always in that endless loop of fighting divorce custody battle when them being happy they were interesting always. They didn't need conflict to be relevant. Kdp deserved an Emmy for these scenes & Robin was as always terrific as the concerned aunt trying to keep her calm esp for the baby.
@419517 - he's sort of corny and I saw him as the vehicle for Todd's death and also....he was supposed to become a leading man while Roger was away. Gag. Don't like the whole Irish story. I laughed so hard at all the comments that he made later on (RH) when he returned.
Robin Strasser (Dorian) , shows here again what a great actress she is , her training, immaculate, she just elevated the show whenever she was on and Kassie Depavia just got even better over time , but almost the entire cast was great during this period .
@bjujubee - she was actually my fave part of this not-so-hot story. I am not that thrilled about how it's going so far. In fact, it was just getting good when you had to stop uploading. I HATE Patrick Thornfart.
Marty is not responsible for this b\c Marty had nothing to do with Todd getting shot. B\c those guys that were going after Patrick are responsible for this b\c they shot Todd & threw him off the cliff with their car. So yeah if u all want to blame those guys for this & not Marty b\c Marty has nothing to do with this for what those guys did.
"you hated todd so much you wanted to see him suffer for the rest of his life" even if this were true...that's a perfectly normal response and resentment for someone to have towards their rapist. i always hated the way blair treated marty, especially considering that blair herself was conceived via rape. she acted like todd was trying to "repent" for stealing marty's lunch money or something--that todd couldn't make his own decisions or that the guilt he felt was unreasonable.
Blair had never been this in love or happy ever in her life. She also always wanted money cause she grew up w/ none as a foster kid so in one package she really fell deeply in love w/ a man who was wealthy to boot. Although she & Todd were falling for eachother b4 the money that's why it's such a shame Blair felt she had to make up that fake baby for the marriage. Todd genuinely told her if he had money he'd invest in her company & Blair had to know being his only real friend at that dark time for him when all the craziness of the rape the trial the therapy the pardon Powell Rebecca etc were all behind him. Now he had no friends no money no family no college no football & very bleak prospects of a career as a pardoned but still always remembered a convicted rapist. His escape made so much news I'm sure wherever he went even Florida it would come up & being he was this poor young guy w/ nothing but a future of minimum waged jobs & his own conscience it would always be there. Anyway that's why I can't believe Blair thought he wouldn't help her freely w/o her tricking him into marriage. OK to my point once Blair & Todd got past all that & she saw Todd was chasing Marty around w/ all his guilt ( as he always should feel but at some point put it in a compartment & move on almost like when u have no choice to get over a deceased loved one ) Blair got very very possessive of Todd esp when they broke up. So I think Blair really was terrified that Todd would confuse his guilt w/ love or obligation to Marty forever. Remember the scene where Blair gave Todd his watch back he left at Marty's & Todd talked about how he & Marty talked & found they had a lot in common & she Saud " omg ur in love w/ her aren't u " in her head I'm sure she knew Todd well enough that he never could have in love feelings for Marty after raping her & all the pain he caused her after. Her heart & insecurity made her feel afraid & irrational that Todd would fall for Marty out if guilt cause Blair saw first hand Todd obviously didn't rape Marty out of attraction or being in love. It was 100% about causing Marty pain & degrading her as badly as possible. Hence bringing Zack & Powell along. That was the most sadistic part Todd calmly pychotically just watching each man have a " turn " while he sat in that swivel chair. It was also about power. The power he held over a trapped Marty & the power he had to make 2 other guys in any other situation do something that awful they normally wouod not do but did so b/c Todd brought them along . Now it's their choice & their as much predators but Zack & Powell were not raping Marty unless Todd had the idea. I actually had a college psychology class about a weird phenomenon about gang rape where after the " leader" of the pack starts the rape otherwise guys that never wouod have done that rape b/c of I guess the pack mentality almost primal & the situation just being there & the opportunity. Honestly if Powell & Zack Said no way to Todd on the stairs I wonder if Todd wouod have done it at all. Mainly that he'd have lost his nerve & fear that they'd no he did it & could tell since they refused to take part. If that's what had happened. Sadly Zack i think was a sociopath in that it didn't matter to him one way or the other if he raped her. It was like as he Said at Todd's idea " what the hell " like hey I'll go along for thr ride. Powell I'm not sure we ever got the real reason. Was it just peer pressure ? Really doing it for Todd as he said or something the network Said no to when Powells story started to wind down. Malone wanted it to come out that Powell was a deeply disturbed young man that was heavily in the closet & had a attraction & obsession w/ Todd. Powell had the most disturbing dream ever that gave me chills. He dreamt he just got off of Marty who was just raped & laying on a pool table. Powell starts to back away slowly horrified until he lands in a chair at rodi's the fishtank from the frat room is present as something he would always flashbacks to. He notices his hands are stained w/ blood he can't get off. Todd pops up w/ blood on his hands too & he's creepiky licking it. They are both watching themselves raping Marty on the pool table. Todd starts saying " u can't ever get the blood off u just get used to hiding it "( Powells homosexuality?) This is where this theory holds more weight Todd in Powells dream starts pawing at Powell grabs his collar & says " cone on gimme some " as he is leaning in to kiss Powell. (!) Powell starts screaming no Todd as Todd starts getting closet to kissing him & wakes up freaked out. He immediately heads to the group meeting Todd Zack & other sex offenders are at where he screens he raped Marty for Todd. A couple scenes after this a more disturbed Powell tries making a call at rod's & his pen breaks getting ink on his hands. He looks in thr mirror & the ink perfectly is shaped in an identical scar to Todd's. I always wondered if that was real or in Powells mind esp as he loses his grip on sanity & now just starts seeing Todd in his own reflection. Pretty great complex writing we never got close to again. Pretty much most of 94 to the what should have been Todd & Marty's final closure scene when he apologized to Marty.
