I like how every GM is either feeding bad advice hoping a guy will fall to them or just guessing about how a college guy will translate it the NFL. What matters most is the talent around them and the coaching staff being patient with their development. So McShay knows half these guys are screwed out of the gate but still puts in the work way more than most NFL network guys like Jeremiah. Gotta respect McShay for doing his own work.

What makes picking the right guy so difficult is that you also have to project what he’s going to be 2-3 years down the road. If you’re comparing apples to apples. Go look at Daniels 2021 stats when he was just 21 as Maye is. He threw 10 touchdowns 10 interceptions and threw for 2382 yards. Daniels Can definitely ball, but don’t forget you’re comparing a 5th year starter to a 2 year starter.

This is a good point. I’m a WAS fan and think Daniels is more assured to be an acceptable qB than Maye. Maye has a higher ceiling because of size and strength. Just depends on system preference. But Maye has room to grow based on age

@@otimoll21 It's not a bad thing per say, but it is telling how long it took him to finally put up good stats on the college level. Now people are acting like he's going to smoke the NFL or something. If you look at his "big plays" almost every single one is the same exact pass. A throw over the top dropping it in the bucket. The issue here is this is not a very likely play in the NFL. Most defenses do a great job of not letting the receiver get behind them like that. I think it's going to be a major issue.

I completely disagree. All three have elite tools, maybe slightly less in area or more in another but all good arms, can make plays with their legs and out of structure. Maye is the best processor of the 3 and the most likely to reach a high ceiling. It’s one of the easier things to fix a guys mechanics to become more consistent from college to the pros. With JD you are looking at a lot more of a Lamar/Hurts trajectory if he puts it together. Caleb is probably the best mix and the highest ceiling theoretically,
@antbull0749

Who told you mechanics are the easiest to fix? It’s literally impossible for some people to change the way they throw. One thing none of these guys are talking about is the age differences between some of these QBs. Daniels played 5 years in college and didn’t really blow up until his 5th year. Williams and Maye are both true juniors - 2 years younger than Daniels. So I think the younger guys probably have more upside in the future. Also, Daniels is very thin, and relies on running too much for the pros.
