Nails vocalist/guitarist Todd Jones and Gatecreeper vocalist Chase Mason talk about Max Cavalera and Sepultura's influence on their bands. Todd Jones mentions how rewarding it is to be supported by the bands that influence their own music. They discuss about how Max Cavalera's attitude towards smaller bands is an example of how big bands should be. I think that's a pretty common connection, which is a hell of a compliment. Fun fact: Chase's favourite Dismember album is 'Massive Killing Capacity,' which is a bit of an underdog album.

I don't think Todd gets high. He's been in a few straight edge bands before Nails, works in IT and now that he's older with a family, it just seems unlikely.

One is a math rock/metalcore band and the other is a powerviolence/grindcore band. They’re nothing alike. Kurt Ballou literally produces for Nails and loves Todd.
