When I was going to a tennis tournament this morning and was on the bus, this song started playing. Keep in mind that this was around 6:30 am, so the morning rush was beginning. We got on the highway, and while I watched the cars go by while listening to this song, something really weird happened. I kind of got this sense of understanding and peace with the world, but I can't seem to understand that now. All I am stuck with are the memories, and a new favorite song.
Emma Johnson Emma - the same thing happened to me when I first listened to this, two days ago. I was doing some other computer tasks, and all the sudden my feet were kicking, head was bobbing... and i belted out a clear monologue of all the world's problems in one go, timed against the music :] This song... i dunno - through its chords, or through the beat... or something... has some kind of magic encoded in it. Today after work and errands, I came straight to my computer, booted it, and navigated directly to this song... now it's dissolving the confusion of the day, leaving behind just a good, clear feeling of positivity.
For those wondering what the first tune from Barry Can't Swim "Classic Dance Medley (Radio 1 Session, 08 June 2023)" that Danny played on July 7th, it is this.
This makes me want to detonate a bath bomb, drink some cucumber Fiji water, and just start vibing like I'm in whole another world! #UltimateBangerClassic
A friend of mine who died nearly three years ago, had the most amazing moves to this song, I will never forget seeing him, smiling, shaking his hips, pointing fingers, wobbling his knees. Miss you so much David.
@@l4nternz He moved his elbows and knees simultanously in- and outwards... sounds kinda stupid, but looked amazingly stupid, only he could pull this off with style. 🥲
Come on Todd, it's been almost seven years since _It's Album Time._ We're primed and ready for round two. We could use it now more than ever given what a shitshow reality has been as of late.
Next time I have to give a PowerPoint presentation at work on how much our projects are overbudget and behind schedule, I'm going to set this as the background music and gently thrust my pelvis as I'm reading through it.
That part doesn't really sound like funk at all, though, but the rest of the song does; that part crosses into trance territory. It literally makes me cry because of how good it is, and I really mean that literally.
There are only a handful of songs I can listen to over and over and over again without driving myself insane. This is one of those songs. The mood sits in this perfect little intersection between sadness and happiness. It's amazing that a few layers of simple synth progressions and a drum beat can appear to simultaneously acknowledge a certain longing and desire while also celebrating the drive to keep moving forward in pursuit of those things, no matter how long the journey may take. Just how I feel about it anyway.
bro.....shout out all the way. Love what you said. Described something that i couldnt quite pinpoint. Read your comment and its dead nutz. I play this song every day. You're awesome. Stay True.
It's interesting to see somebody else who shares the same sentiment about this song as I do. Because thats more or less the vibe I get from this song as well! Well said my man!
Yes. Me too. Reminds me of the Alaskan cruise I went on with my ex-wife right before the divorce. It was a happy time because of the time we spent together. It was a sad time because she left me for another man. Both happy and sad.
that's a really refreshing sentiment right now given the situation in Australia. Thank you for that adorable image - really don't care if it's herbal induced:)
That warms my heart. When I worked as a postman this was one of my anthems. Just cruising around on a moped in a small town delivering letters, usually baked out of my mind, making my minimum wage and feeling good. Happy days.
Love that he basically made this whole EP coz he spent a crap ton of money on a juicy synth and was like oh fuck I need to make money with this to justify my spending habits and then just made some of the sickest tunes ever Recently impulse bought hundreds of pounds worth of music gear so now should follow suit, made £20 from my first gig so now just... About 20 gigs to go 😭
Over the years I have listened to this so much that my wife grew to hate it, eventually she came to me and said "If you don't stop playing Inspector Norse I'll leave". I'll miss her
I wish there was a special yearly holiday where everyone in the world played this song at high noon and had to dance for the whole length of it and if you didn't dance you don't get your tax return year may 4th would probably work well
Your comment makes me think that you might like to do that sort of thing anyway - the song would help explain things to onlookers a bit - if played loud enough :)
This song should be printed on a golden record and sent away into deep space, so if any alien entity that wants to destroy humanity find it and play it, they may change their minds after realizing how good is this song 😁
Lol you poor peasant. As if Aliens would travel light years to this planet and use such primitive technology on their space crafts...you bumbling bafoon you!
About 6 years ago I remember seeing a comment that said something like "I rub mayonnaise all over my body to this song" and I don't think I've seen a better comment yet.
I want to be in a packed sweaty club grooving to this like a madman whilst shouting choice comments from this excellent comments thread to beautiful sweaty people doing the same
I first heard this in around 2014 I think it was and thought it was average... Around 2 years later I was in a cycle shop and heard it and went straight to the owner and was like "What's this song, I need to know!" He said it was BBC Radio 6... Went home and went through all the playlists that day and found it and have been happy ever since 😃
BBC radio 6 was gold back in the day. A lot of the radio stations in England were awesome, and even streamed their daily shows, but sadly those are long gone, and I don't know what happened to them.
last night I fell asleep to this song, I woke up eight hours later with the song still playing and my cat on my stomach looking at me, best moment of my life.
ooh wow the melody that starts at about 1:15 is so cool!! and it develops ever so flawlessly and the energy shifts in the song are perfect ups and downs.... extraordinary production Mr Terje
65 yrs old and discovering this for the first. Wow, just makes me want to 'groove'. Got to thank 6music for playing it. How else would I have heard this. Big smiles all around. 😉
Dude totally agree - the harmony, the beat, the production. So clever yet so simple. And it totally keeps you engaged for the whole six and a half minutes which I think is pretty awesome considering he's really got only two ideas - the main one and then that bridge that kicks in 3:36 (yet it still has the same melody put over different chords!?! So mad)

I was at a music festival this month, seeing Todd Terje high as fuck on weed and with x in my system. Throughout Todd's entire hour-long performance I was absolutely struck by how music could make me and everyone else in the audience so damn happy. At many points during it, I broke into tears by how beautiful the music sounded, and how it brought everyone together as one. No phones, no aggression, no anger, just pure happiness from everyone. This song was the last one, and during the climax at the end I was just standing there with joyous tears in my eyes at how lucky we are to be able to bear witness to magic such as this. It was the single most profound experience in my life so far. It made me appreciate simply being alive. It doesn't matter how tough things are, as long as we can take the time to enjoy ourselves we will be okay. It's that yin and yang thing everyone talks about :) Peace and love x
