Good job mom and dad on taking away the binky. I agree, it's so hard to see them sad but it's important to stick to your guns. Especially when it comes to their development. I did the Binky Fairy too, saw it on Supernanny. It's definitely a great way to transition them. Ozzy is so sweet, smart and special. She's definitely a reflection of her upbringing ❤️

so, here's what i did when it was time for the binky bye-bye. I took both of my children to i believe Wal-mart, cleared an area of a shelf , grabbed around 5 " big-kid" toys that were similar in price as well educational but still super fun . They got to pick one of the toys and when it came time to pay for the toy they actually paid for the toy with their binky. There was a couple times at home at bedtime and next couple days various moments where there was minor meltdowns which i quickly was able to grab their new toy reminding them that binkys are for when they were still little but now they are a "big kid" and thats why they have their new big kid toy theat they paid for with the binky. After a couple reminders they were good! Hope this idea helps and again, thank you for sharing your lives with all of us viewers, and for just being the awesome happy family and great parents and kiddos that you all are! Pls let me know what you think of this idea!!!

Mamma you were sooo brave regarding the binkies. We did a similar thing when the time came to say goodbye because our fairy really needed the binkies for all the new babies. ( good thing the concept of hygiene was a little over my daughters head at that tender age!). When she was still using a binkie my daughter was only given them at bedtime but that didn’t stop her hiding them around the house in secret places. I remember seeing her sneaking off to her play kitchen, opening the oven door where one was hidden, she have a quick three second suck before hiding it again and returning. Precious moments indeed. She gave them up so easily with the help of the binkie fairy. Thank you again, for sharing that lovely day.

You both did this so well!! It’s so hard to teach your little ones about growing up. I’ve seen some very imaginative ways to say goodbye to binkies and it works, but it will be difficult when the new baby comes. My friends always told their older kids that binkies were for babies and that they were the big girl/boy and that their little brother/sister needed them. That usually worked :)

Ozzy is really smart and articulates very well for her age.

Omg watching her little face as she started to realize that the binky is officially gone just ripped my heart out!! I’m 37 years old and I still sleep with my baby blanket sooooo that’s where I’m at haha! 😂

It's so hard to take something they are so attached to but when we took the binky away we let him know where it was, but that he couldn't have it. It worked out fine every once and awhile he would shuffle into the kitchen to the drawer where we kept it and pick it up sucked on it a few times put it back and walked away.

We're all so proud of Ozzy!

The prizes was a great idea, it's never an easy trade off and there's for a sure a tough transitional period, but good on you guys for following your gut and doing what needed to be done for your wee girl. Including getting her up after crying for so long, routines are awesome but disruptions happen and you gotta go with the flow sometimes . I think you guys have done fantastically. It can be really tough and confusing when these things happen, esp with the first, like you say you don't know what to do and what's the right thing. I think you guys did what was right for Ozzy at the time

That was SO adorable! I love the shot when all 3 of you are on the swings at once. So cute with the "binky fairy". Seems like an awesome way to part with the binky now that her teeth are coming in. Way to go guys! I hope it works well and she adjusts quickly and everything settles down nicely. Seems to like her prizes. :) Maybe the unicorn flew down from the clouds. I don't think she likes the unicorn substituting for the binkies though. I hope she grows to like it, it's very cute, so is Ozzy!
