This is such an oddly comforting song. I never really "go for" people, but the one's who find me all seem to be this type, a hot on the outside and a not on the inside, while I "believe the sweet little lies" and "wear my heart on my sleeve". It's to the point I've started wondering if the one's who treat me like crap are "just my type". That is, until recently when I now have someone I initially rejected for a few reasons (looks not being one of them, but due to not being conventionally attractive I know he has a hard time finding someone) who still hasn't stopped being so kind and thoughtful it's like his personality was pulled from a romance novel. I don't know if the song has a positive or negative outlook on going for the sort of people that usually hurt you, but I think we all will come across them until the right person comes along and finds you, possibly not someone you would ever expect 💖
I love Todrick's songs because when I watched the movie, I didn't really care for any of the songs, but could tell that there was something in the songs that made me want to keep listening to them. And now I absolutely love this entire soundtrack
