I stopped my son from toe walking just by keeping sturdy shoes on him all day even around the house. He loves shoes and socks now and pretty much always wears them by choice because he wore them since he was toddler.

My son also wears smo’s but for a different reason. Two things I notice for Simon’s are that when your daughter removed them, the top of his foot was really red. That means the brace isn’t fitting well and likely needs adjusted. Secondly, his shoes definitely look too small. Most orthopedics recommend getting shoes in a size bigger than usual and removing the insole to allow plenty of room for the brace and for the foot and toes to spread out when the child bears weight on their feet. I suggest taking him to the orthopedic with those shoes to have a good assessment done.
@7Aheadfamily

Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️. Thanks for your concerns as well! We just had an appointments not too long ago where the doctor checked everything and said that it was his shoes, fit well, and he hasn’t been bothered by them at all. I really don’t see any red marks when we take the shoes off, but we will keep an eye out for that. ❤️

When I was a child I walked on my toes, but only some of the time so no intervention was necessary. I'm now 40 and I still do it once in a while when I'm at home or alone in an elevator etc... I can't explain why, but it just feels good! My husband with ADHD was a much more frequent toe-walker than me, and for him it was a serious issue. He actually had to consciously train himself to heel walk when he got older. I'm glad there are early therapies now and that Simon is getting the support he needs. 😊

If you want I will tell u their tik tok as they might be similar to you, hopefully your foot braces help the kids that the lady on tik tok shows have really improved and been a huge impact on the kids but you can’t walk with foot braces unless you have shoes which will be a tiny bit inconvenient heart❤

They also think Avenue's CFO is something that I can't see. So I'm probably saying the wrong, yo. It just don't stop with this kid. Ivan is a good kid, but hes giving me a lot of trouble right now, and I'm accepting it, but it's very hot with me with him right now, I'm. Breaking down Ivan is a very smart kid. But hes hurting so bad as a broken point as f***But he has broken bones for the way it happened. It was very funny and we were all laughing at it. But he gets so mad when we laughed down. I have it on a go pro. And and I erased it as soon as I've seen it. It was funny but it wasn't it was. Everyone laugh at it but I don't want people laughing at my kids. Because what he said afterwards he was so mad. I never seen him so mad. And I'm happy for him that he got that out though you wanna talk to me. I'll give you my number again very hard for me.

Hmm. I wonder if that is why my heels sometimes hurt on the hard floor cause I have been more on may toes than heels when at home?

30, audhd. Alternate normal and toe walking. When over stimulated, I don't like the senation of my heals touching the ground as I walk.

Thank you for sharing! Simon prefers toe walking due to a sensory stimulation🩷

I am not aware of online ordering, but you should be able to just meet with your pediatrician and they can get you in touch with a specialist who can get you some. ❤️

It may be possible to reduce or eliminate toe walking by providing the person with therapeutic vestibular stimulation (e.g., being swung on a glider swing). Toe walking may be directly or indirectly related to a visual-vestibular problem. Hope this helps❤️

Im 19 now and still toe walk to this day. I let myself do it now since ive learned its sensory related. I had braces's just like him till i was about 5. They will help him a lot in the long run for me i have muscle problems in my ankles because of it. Some muscles are underdeveloped but others are just fine its causes lots of ankle pain and might lead to arthritis like I have.

I walked on my toes when I was little, and my little brother copied me. They ended up having to get physical therapy, but didn't have to get braces. I stopped toe walking around the age of five or six.

I was a tippy toe kid. At 40 i still do but try not 2. I also was born with hydrocephalus and splastic displasia. Something like that. So my tippy toes could be more because of those disabilities more than autism spectrum

In the US the pediatric orthopedics office is the one to go to for braces.

My son walks on tippy toes and he's diagnosed with autism. He's about a level 2. I did not think to get him braces. I should.

Not everyone needs braces but I figured that it was a simple precaution.

That's just mean :( Toe-walking is fun and relaxing. Yall really should not force him into walking weirdly.

Over time, habitual toe walking places abnormal stress on the bones and ligaments in the feet, knees, and lower back which can deform bones and stretch ligaments, causing joint pain, impaired function, knee instability, arthritis, and increased risk of injury as one grows older. Hope this helps!❤️

I have level 1 ASD and I feel you guys with Simon, I was a kid that was tending to get loose as a toddler and I at times walked on my tiptoes but only if it made me agitated to walk normally.

My son is 5 & autistic. The podiatrist said today that he thinks surgery on his Achilles will help. I'm not convinced as it is not a guarantee & my thought is that is neurological so maybe CBT? I'm so unsure of what to do 😕
@7Aheadfamily
@7Aheadfamily 6 месяцев назад
Surgery is usually only needed if he can’t bend all the way he needs to. Sorry that you are dealing with that.
@7Aheadfamily
@7Aheadfamily 6 месяцев назад
As far as surgery on his achilles tendon goes, that depends on his mobility of his heal. Does he spend a lot of time on his toes? Can he bend his foot flat on the ground? You can always get a second opinion if you have concerns. If you can, I would go to a pediatric orthotics office, if you have one available. That's where our son goes to get his braces on his feet. good luck!
