Hi Juva, how much time do we spend on a quick glance. During my practice, i hurt my score coz i missed some important details mostly because I was running against time. Also i do mess up the last 2 mark question as i haven't read the complete passage. Finding them in the last few minutes puts me to panic.

@@mohitindumukhi7319 Hi Mohit, I'd recommend spending about 1-2 minutes on skimming the passage. Then have a look at the questions. Thanks Juva for the great videos you share with future test takers. Anyway, I have 3 questions irrelevant to the video topic; 1- If my exam starts at 10:00 A.m. and I understand that I need to be there 30 minutes before that time., but the question is, if I arrived early and finished the regular security check and these stuff early, will I start the exam immediately and get distracted by every student entering the test room? or all students enter at once? 2- Is it better to reach the the speaking section before other students in order to focus more on the tasks? (for example by skipping listening for the directions, do you recommend such a thing), or it's better to slow down and start a little bit further than others in order to hear them answering speaking questions and get an idea about the tasks? 3- Perhaps this one sounds silly but it's really got me thinking about it lately, What is the best location in the room to take the test? I mean near the entrance door, or in the middle, or may be as far as possible from the door? and do we have the choice where to sit in the room? or it's just their decision and we can't discuss this matter? I know that was too much to be asked, and I apologize for that. Thanks a lot Juva, really appreciate it 💖

Juva! I have this prejudice towards the reading section. I believe if i want a higher grade on TOEFL it will not be because of the reading section. I think it does not matter how strong I built my vocabulary or do a lot of reading practise it will not affect my grade. In the end I will answer the questions according to my perception during the exam. What do you think the author thinks in the passage? I think the author thinks A.. Ops..! NO. Author thinks B. (Happens everytime) Any advise?
@juva
@juva 3 года назад
Hey Nisa, both aspects will play a role in TOEFL Reading. First, if you have a broad range of vocabulary and are used to reading English texts the reading section will be easier for you. Second, knowing the question types is very important because this will save you a lot of time and you will know what you are looking for. I'd recommend practicing with the free ETS practice tests, especially in order to get to know the question types. Hope this helps :).

That's an excellent question! After you have skimmed the passage, have a look at the questions and look for the answer in the passage. These are the relevant points. Hope this helps :).

Hi! Juva, I have a question, The reading and listening section score displayed as an unofficial score on the day of the test, is the exact score that you get in those sections?
@juva

Hi Karen, the unofficial scores can change but don't have to. I got exactly the same scores in the end.

Hey juva how much practice do we need for toefl? I mean 6 hours a day is enough or how much you put your time on teofl.
@juva

@@asy858 Hey :) This depends on your current level of English, the amount of time you have, and the score you need. However, 6 hours a day is already a lot. It may be hard to concentrate if you study more.

You're so welcome Debora! If you like have a look at my playlist called "TOEFL Reading". The videos there are mainly about Reading strategy. I'd also recommend taking the ETS practice test if you have not already done so. Hope this helps :)
