Hi Juva. Thanks so much for educating us TOEFL learners/students. I wonder whether I can write... "I halfheartedly agree and halfheartedly disagree on the statement because ..." or " I do not completely agree nor do I completely disagree on what was said due to..." instead of writing... "I completely agree or disagree..." before stating the two reasons... Will it lower or increase the score? Thanks in advance!
Hello Dhruv Iyer, Congratulations for your score! I'd personally like to ask you a question, how did you find the speaking part; was it challenging? did you manage to say everything you wanted in 45 seconds, was the time short and did you hesitate ? Because honestly I feel like preparing for 15 or 30 seconds isn't that much. Best regards
I can't thank you more Juva! Your videos are just crisp and to the point. I've started preparing for TOEFL recently. There're numerous resources out there but they're haphazard. I stumbled upon your channel recently and I've seen my performance get better, all thanks to you.
Juva thank you very much for all of your videos. I recently took the Home Edition Test and was able to score 114. I really apreciate the effort you put into this channel.
Hey :) I'd love to ask you a few questions about your experience. I’d be very happy if you were interested in that. If you are, please drop me an email at contacting.juva@gmail.com . I'd love to hear from you :)
I only watched this video and practiced 4 sample speaking tests for 2 days max and received 25 score in speaking. Thank you so much Juva! Your videos are amazing!! ❤
My brain immediately came up with: DISAGREE and I took those notes: 1. Distraction and 2. brain development. I felt like that those 15 seconds are not enough time to actually think and ponder about the topic I had to have an immediate opinion about the subject and my reasons. Thank you for the exercise!
you are amazing, lot of love from The Gambia. Best wishes to myself in next one month, I should sit for my toefl and your tips are really amazing and helpful once again may God bless you abundantly
Thank you so much for your video! I listened to other videos on RU-vid, but they were all less logically structured. I love your precise structure & even the abbreviations & symbols that you use. Thank you :):)
Thank you so much Juva. I watched many of your videos today, and i think they are super useful. However i disagreed. I started with paraphrase. In my opinion kids should not have smartphones. I felt this way for two reason. First is time efficacy: many children will spend their time watching videos and giving likes to famous people on social media, and waste their time. For example my sister was super excited and clever at school, before she had a smartphone, However right now she is overusing it,and she is in retreat. Second: inappropriate content. For instance children search randomly, and they can meet unsuitable videos, or pictures, that can affect their mental health. As a result they should not have smartphones. I want feedback about the content of my answer, and thank you so much.
I don't understand how people study TOEFL just for one week or so, and got high scores. I hope this will be the case for me as well. I am going to take TOEFL next week on Satuday, and still trying to study for Speaking part. :/
So great that you are going to take the TOEFL! A great way to practice speaking is to speak to your wall using a timer. This way you will get used to the time limit and the questions. I wish you all the best for your TOEFL, you can do it! 😀
Hello juva mam !! Hope you doing good in making students professional in English . My inspiration : ) love from india I don't know much English language but i am trying to talk with you to improve my language . how to Improve my vocabulary mam
Hi Mani, I'm so glad you like it. Have a look at this video where I talk about mind maps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3D4wW-urIRs.html. They're a great way to expand your vocabulary. Love from Oxford :).
Hi Juva!! Your videos are the best I found! I was really concerned about the speaking task, but with your templates you made me think It’s posible. Please I need a recommendation. What can I do to improve my fluency in a short time?
Hi Gloria, I'm so glad you like the videos :). I'd recommend practicing often so that you get used to speaking. For example, take one of the ETS practice tests for TOEFL Speaking and answer the questions. Try to answer them in the time given so that you also get used to the time constraints. You will realize that it will get easier for you to speak fluently :).
TOEFL Speaking is challenging, but don't worry, you can do it! For example, in Task 1, just write down the first ideas you have. They don't have to be extraordinary. The TOEFL examiners just want to see whether you can give an answer in English.
I have a theory about the time in the toefl test especially in the speaking section . 15 seconds is not enough, in my opinion ,the answers is exist already in your subconscious mind but you won't realize that until after the test is over .but during the test you maybe get distracted and all your answers maybe eludes your mind . hopes that will never happen with us Because nothing annoying more than after the test is over all answers will rain on your mind in task 3 i think the question is about a determinate thing and i have seen the answer is exist in the lecture especially on the examples that made by professor It is right? ?
It's definitely hard to figure out an answer in only 15 seconds. The good thing is that the first question is normally about everyday things, so mostly you already have an opinion about that. Regarding task 3, you're definitely right. The examples given by the professor are really important because they put the topic in a different context, so if you talk about the topic and the context in which the lecturer puts them using his examples, you have successfully combined the information from both passages.
@@juva I do not doubt that you are right, attorney; ) ,i think before getting into the test i must to expand my vocabulary especially academic words and that is what i'm trying to do, so i thing iam still in the study level , i want to take this exam with high confidence . i always do make a conversation with my self ,you are know, iam in an Arabic country so i don't have anyone to talk with him in English. every day i memorized bunch of complex words . (الحمد لله )
@@marwakhateeb3721 You're right, you need to study vocabulary in order to answer the questions. Since the topic can be whatever you should have a broad range of words that you can use. This will definitely make it easier for you to answer the questions. Practicing at home is a good idea :). Haha attorney, not yet... I'm still studying :D
Hi Juva! Thank you for this video. Do you know if we can erase our notes after the reading and listening part of the exam? Or do we have to try to fit all notes from the 4 tests? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I would to know that during the 45sec of reading before listening the speaking between two people, do its recording our voice while reading or not to score the pronunciation xd Thank you for helpful tips.
I have just finished practicing speaking but i’m struggled with the last section (academic lecture) it is straightforward but I couldn’t keep up. I keep on getting lost when writing down the example of each point because it’s very hard for me to memorize the example . Do you have any tips for this problems?
Hi Loren, in TOEFL Speaking task 2 you need to talk about a campus announcement. Check out my video about the TOEFL Speaking Template I used, you can find it in the playlist TOEFL Speaking. In this video I explain exactly what you need to do. Hope this helps :)
Hello Juva! Thanks so much for your videos! I had my scores today!! And I very happy, thanks a lot! :) Do you know what Can I do to have them in PDF format please? :)
Hello Mylene! So great that you got your scores and that you are happy with them! I'm so glad you liked the videos :). If you log in to your ETS account there is a button that says something like 'Score report', if you click on that you should be able to download it as a PDF. Hope this helps :)
You're amazing! Thank you very much for your effort and commitment. Your videos help me a lot because I have a little baby and I don't have enough time to study. But I'm doing my best effort to achieve my goal: work as a oncology nurse. I'm going to take the test in five days!! I'm struggling with the time in reading and the speaking I feel realy nervous!! God bless you Juva!
Thank you so much Claudia. That's so amazing that you are studying for the TOEFL while having a baby. That must be really difficult. Since you don't have much time I'd recommend making sure that you know the most important things to improve your TOEFL score quickly. If you like, check out my videos where I talk about the templates I used in TOEFL Speaking and Writing, they are in the playlist called "templates". If you struggle with the time in speaking memorizing a template can help you in being more concise which saves time. If you want to improve your time management in reading check out my playlist called "TOEFL Reading" where I tell you which reading strategy you can use to be faster. I wish you and your baby all the best! You can do this Claudia!
This is gold!!! I got 27 in my test and I still cannot believe it (I got 14 in listening tho jaja). Juva, you are the best teacher in RU-vid since you truly advice us with the essential way to take notes, by far. I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH cuz this structured method helped me to answer my questions effectively in all aspects. From saving time from writing non-relevant info to speaking with a clearer idea of the topic on each of the speaking tasks. I hope you the best. Keep it up!
Congratulations Lívia! Your scores are amazing, you can be so proud of yourself! I'm so glad I could help. I'd love to ask you a few questions about your experience. If you are interested in that, please drop me an email at contacting.juva@gmail.com . I'd love to hear from you :)
Wao, congratulation. I'm from French country and going to take the TOEFL test in two weeks. Could you please share your experience, it will help a lot. Thanks
Thank you so much. I am Chinese and my last TOEFL score is 109( R:29 L:27: S:19 S:26). Apparently, my speaking score is not satisfactory. Actually, I am confused by some guide books which show me how to take notes and write bare-bones outliens. I can never take notes as detailed as shown in these books. Now, I have finally realized they are somehow misleading. Your methods are much more useful and practical. What's more, my notes for task 1 example in your video is as follow: -, eyes and back, waste time.
Thank you so much Juva for your crisp and precise videos! I managed to score 115 in TOEFL, with 29 in speaking, the section I was the most unsure about. But your tips helped a lot!
Congratulations Shreyas! Your scores are amazing, you can be so proud of yourself! I'm so glad I could help :). I'd love to ask you a few questions about your experience. If you are interested in that, please drop me an email at contacting.juva@gmail.com . I'd love to hear from you :)
Hi, I hope you are doing good...! This is Sreekanth I am planning to take my TOEFL exam on this month I have one query regarding my ETS account name it seems in my ets account my name is like this "Sreekanth Muli". And all in my govt identification my name is like this " Muli Sreekanth" so this will be any impact on my test ?
Hi :) I'm fine thanks, hope you are doing well too. The name on your ETS account must match the name on your ID. I'd recommend contacting ETS. Hope this helps :).
This was really helpful, especially the table for Task 2! When it's a choice question I prefer to state first why I prefer A and then why I dislike B: 1st (+) "online learning" 2nd (-) "not connected"... basically I gave the same arguments as you did, just the other way around :)
Hi, thank you for your useful and unique tips! I want to ask, I have a to-do-list transparent board which when writing something, it can be erased again. However, there's a permanent print mark on the board like bulletin symbols, 'to-do-list' and 'monday tuesday etc'. Can this still be used for taking notes? I mean, I hope those writings are not counted as cheating writings because it's just a to-do-list board... Thank you before in advance!
I'm so glad you like it 😀 I recommend using a whiteboard without anything on it. Even if it's not related to the TOEFL, I wouldn't use it just to be sure.
Hi Juva, thank you so much for your help! I was really concerned about the speaking section and I got 27/30 by learning your templates! You are amazing! I'm so happy that I got 100 on the TOEFL IBT! Thank you so much for all the videos and excellent information.
Hi Endy, Congratulations!! Your scores are amazing, you can be so proud of yourself! I'm so glad the speaking template and the videos were helpful to you :) Have a great day!
Hello Endy, I'd love to ask you a few questions about your experience. I’d be very happy if you were interested in that. If you are, please drop me an email at contacting.juva@gmail.com . I'd love to hear from you :)
I was allowed to take notes while listening to the recording. Follow the instructions on the screen, they will tell you when you are allowed to take notes.
