Thank you so much for posting this vid. The post-op instructions I received after getting my procedure done were a little confusing and bc I'm more of a visual learner, this has been incredibly helpful. Such a godsend 🥰!! You are awesome 🤗!!
So many varying ways and instructions on how to deal with aftercare of the nail, had mine done around a month ago and its now purple and still leaking fluids and very painful from the pressure.
Vi Moon My podiatrist told me not to use antibiotic ointment because you want and need the nail bed to callus. If not, you’re at risk of getting an infection if the bone in your toe as toenails are what mostly protect that bone at the tip of your toe. As long as you were on antibiotics and do all rinsing and cleansing, you should be fine.
@@robertwilliams5618 Hello, my doctor told me to put antibiotic ointment as well and also to continue the remaining antibiotics pills I have. Did u stop putting the ointment after all? And if so are you okay? I'm honestly confused because everybody online says different things.
@@santosreyna8917 Don't use the gauze after the first day - just a bandaid. I do not scrub the toe clean with a toothbrush for a week. It will not look clean and will have darkened blood on the middle of the toe. It needs to scab up or blood will just increase and delay healing Just make sure that the darkened area does not spread to your foot with pain. An ugly mesh-like will form that is not to worry about as long as things toward the base of the toenail are skin-colored. That gets scrubbed off the eighth day and will be looking clean after a few more days. Take all the antibiotics. I had my right toenail pulled two years ago and it looks perfect today. Most of all, do not wait for the pain to become big before taking Tylenol. Always take two just as the pain begins its threshold. Painkillers work best on a small hill, not a mountaintop.
@@susy032700 hi how long did your toes take. I'm three and a half weeks in and still trying to dry out and looks terrible. Still bleeds ans especially after shower or soaking
I am currently doing my own care...I don't wear gloves. I just wash my hands, and that's all I feel is necessary. Even my daughter, who is a nurse, changed the bandage once for me and that's all she did was wash her hands. The antibiotic ointment is all I felt like I needed.
It’s clearly just her daughter or something lol she didn’t have a procedure done, look at her perfect toenail 💅 this is just an example. Plus you need to be able to hear her lol
@@soofitnsexy Because she is a Doctor dealing with a Open woon no mask no gloves she could infect it with Spit droplets 💦 or anything on her Hands not Sanitary at all.
