Such a great video, straight to the point and you really show the differences in all of them. After seeing the vid, I just ordered the auto-adjusting versions instead of the regular.
Thank you for a great tutorial. I probably would have grabbed the first clamp I saw at Lowe's or Menards, but I know now EXACTLY what would work best. Very nice presentation.
Great video. I haven't used toggle clamps before, knew I wanted to but not where to start. Have watched other shows but yours did the most succinct and complete version. I will be getting some simple ones and those remarkable Bessie's! Thanks, Happy Holidays!
Perfect timing .... looking to make a table saw jointing jig and wanted it so i could joint 2 x 4s. I bought the basic clamps and have spent considerable time trying to get the right sized would to hold the 2 x 4s so the clamps will lock down properly. Needless to say a bit of a pain. So i was thrilled to see you discuss the variable clamps. Now i'm off to get a few of those ! Thanks !
just a quick one, you missed the point of the extra hole on the push and pull clamp, moving the handle bolt to the other hole will prevent the handle from going below the work piece level :)
Loved your show. I can understand you.! Most of these type programs have guys with foreign accents or so far North I have a hard time understanding them.!😊
You are right, it would be nice to have a set of those clamps ready for jigs on the fly, I hope China makes those easily affordable. Your video is right on point.
Nice Job on Review . I Just Got Two Horizontal Clamps At HF . $12 PR. I'm Using Mine For DP Vise On My Workbench .Viewer's Should Know 1 - 1/4 is Commonly known as 5/4 . ( five Quarter ) .
i am trying to make a clamping tool holder for my hand cast so i can hold things i am working on. i can't use my fingers or put pressure on fingers so it will be attached to cast.i think i can make something to hold it with this clamp.. thanks
Thanks. My main annoyance with these is they are impossible to buy in English hardware shops. Internet only, or so it seems. But then I don't get to fiddle with it before I buy.
Scott: Right here, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oZkBZaJ6Wt8.html, you began to talk about and demonstrate the push-pull clamp. About 5-seconds later, you push the hand lever to fully extend the probe in the 'push' direction. You say the words, "lock it in". Do you actually lock it it at that point? Or, must one push down on the hand lever a wee bit more to actually "lock it in". I get it... since the clamp is not securely fastened to the table, you may be deliberately avoiding "locking it in" in its fully extended position. I would just like to know if it will kind-a-snap into the "lock-it-in" position if you had pushed it a wee bit more. It looks like it might. Great video, by the way. And I appreciate your enthusiasm with regard to these really useful tools.
nice! I have a question about the push pull clamp at the end.. it looks like it lifts your blank just before clamping. was that a convincidense or does it happend all the time? Or is there an adjustment to provide it?
+Kjell O Brun I think I see what you're looking at. The issue there is that my fence was not very secure and the clamp was actually moving the fence. They apply quite a bit of pressure! So if your fence is nice and tight - the clamp puts direct force against it - shouldn't have any problems "lifting" the workpiece.
Hi, Nice video ... What is the maximum force with which a toggle clamp can exert ? You said the self assisting clamp could exert between 50-500 pounds of force ... Love to know if any other quick release clamps that can exert more pressure then these toggle clamps ? Thanks in advance.
Hello. All of the tools discussed on our channel are available at Highland Woodworking (www.highlandwoodworking.com/bessey-auto-adjust-toggle-clamp.aspx). Thanks for watching!
I made a Long Bar Double Clamp .This all-in-one clamp covers the entire table. Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sMxZPmWKsro.html
