To save money and water and toilet paper I: Cut paper towels to about 4X4 squares and use them for #1 and put them in a small covered trash can with a plastic bag Then I don't have to flush every time for #1 which saves a LOT of water. (Plain vinegar in the water cuts the odor). I only use toilet paper for # 2 and flush. I have really cut my water bill and use 1 roll of TP maybe for 2+ weeks. If things get really bad have squares of old T-shirt cloth (or get old T's from the thrift store) ready for #1 . These can be put in a bucket of soaking vinegar/soapy water and washed by hand or machine. Get a bidet or spray plastic bottle for # 2 and pat dry. Learning to conserve has really saved me money and be prepared with alternatives. Also, make or buy washable menstural pads just in case things get really bad. It's good to be ready. Yes, men have it a lot easier ! Stuff your empty toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls with dryer lint to use as outside fire starters .
I always buy Big TP at the Costco type stores.. i have 3 packs now = 96 rolls.. i pick 1 up everytime i shope !! ... 4 squares sounds wayyy to stingy !! 😱😂😱😂😱
I keep plenty of toilet paper at home and enough in my backpack to last me a week or more. I keep mine stored in my utility closet and some under my kitchen sink. As to how much you need depends on the quality of the paper and I love getting two ply hoping they will last longer.
Hahaha...country folks would use nonpoisonous plant leaves, corn shucks, junk mail or washable bags of rags for each family member ...why waste money on tp when the sht hits the fan!!
Hi AG, I store toilet paper in steel 55 gal. drum. Nothing gets in and so far so good on condensation problems. As far as baby wipes I put a piece of duct tape over any Sharpe plastic on the package and then vacuum seal with my food saver. It seems to work very well and its a little more expensive but worth the money. Thanks for another great video!!!!!!!!
You are welcome, Gary. I like the 55 gallon drum idea. I rotate paper products every year or two simply because paper can start to disintegrate. I like your tip for baby wipes. They do dry out, even with lots of tips and tricks.
I try and keep at least a minimum of 45 rolls spare for emergencies, going up to 90 rolls maximum with the storage space I've got. Good mention on baby wipes. I also have a few extra hand sanitiser bottles with the toilet roll, in case the water is out.
Toilet paper cannot go bad if stored in a cool, dry place. Store it where it won't become wet or damp, and away from places rodents can get into it. I store hundreds of rolls, rotate them over time, and have never had a problem except at my off grid cabin where voles chewed up a few rolls inside a plastic tote.
