No parks anywhere in the world hold a candle to the ones in Japan. Their culture is just so focused on cleanliness and service to the customer.

Slightly jealous of Japan's superior Indiana Jones ride. My parents went to DisneySea years ago and I wanted to know all about the rides, but they mostly had stories of popcorn flavors. C'mon!

They're not called 'Lands', they're called 'Ports of Call' :p (Mediterranean Harbor, American Waterfront, Port Discovery, Lost River Delta, Arabian Coast, Mermaid Lagoon and Mysterious Island! ) I'm so glad to be along the ride and seeing you discover this great park! :D Tokyo Disney is known for having rare characters walking around. I saw the Three Caballeros while I was there myself!

Disney owns 0 percent of Tokyo Disneyland. Oriental Land Company basically is a franchisee/licensee. It hires Disney for consulting and Imagineering, meaning there are Disney employees working in Tokyo, under a contract relationship between OLC and Disney. They can utilize previously unused concepts created by Disney, which happened Tokyo Dianey Sea. Disney does retain ownership of the Attraction concepts Imagineering creates and builds. The Tokyo Parks can have exclusive rights for a certain period, but nothing precludes Disney from building an Attraction from Tokyo at any other Park around the world. It's Hong Kong and Shangai where Disney is a minority owner. As I understand it, when Tokyo Disney was being built Japanese law didn't allow for foreign ownership. Not long after the Park opened, the law changed. Disney attempted to buy Tokyo Disneyland, but due to extreme success of the Park, OLC declined. But, the business relationship remains and Disney still earns money, albeit not as much if they had equity.

I have wanted to visit Tokyo Disney Sea more than any other Disney Park in the world (speaking as a mega Disney Park fan for over 50 years)...and Chris, you have succeeded in making me want to visit Tokyo Disney Sea even more than I did before!! Thanks for the memories! TDS certainly has the highest level of detail of any park world wide. It’s such a unique place and the perfect compliment for a second gate. I really hope you’ll be able to see Believe on your next day there. It’s the most technologically advanced spectacular in the world and also such an amazing story which can be lost somewhat without speaking the language. Hopefully it will still make sense!
