Like Phantom manor in Disneyland Paris is connected to Thunder Mountain and the rest of Frontierland, The Tower is connected to the SS Columbia. The owner of the Tower was also the owner of the ship. It's nice when a whole land has a story connecting all the attractions.
Little correction: The owner of the SS Columbia was Cornelius Endicott II, a rival of Harrison Hightower III. The daughter of Endicott, Rose (the woman in the window) managed to save Hotel Hightower from being destroyed by registering it as a historic landmark. Rose was also present at the opening of the SS Columbia.
its also connected to the haunted mansion!! harrison hightower is related to george hightower, which was constance's final husband. pretty neat!! and then of course its connected to s.e.a which is all a confusing timeline and stuff but yeah
Actually, I have rode on this attraction once At Tokyo DisneySea... Ever since I rode that attraction, I kept my eyes close at other attractions just because I felt scared I was gonna fall off... I mean... *I FELT LIKE I WAS FLOATING FROM MY SEAT* It was so fast, not even gravity can control it...
I have a secret for youtube Tower of terror, This secret is for Hotel Hightower, When you see the green light in rooms, That is the curse and the green light is in The whole hotel, It is clear that the whole hotel is cursed
Apparently there was already a remake planned but Scarlett Johansson (who was gonna be the lead character) backed out of the film because of a controversy involving her contract with Disney
REALLY!?!?!? I couldn't tell without seeing a big'ol jangler of jewlery floating off his left ear with his watch at 0:51(probably cause of the beard and camera angle, but still)!! X''''D en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Rohde#/media/File:JoeRohde2016.jpeg Real talk though, since Everest he's also designed Disney's Aulani resort in Hawaii, created the Pandora addition to Animal Kingdom, lead the designer team that turned the Tower of Terror in California into Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, AND served as the lead designer of Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point!
“New York, 1899. Amid the hustle and bustle of the world’s premier industry town, the Hotel Hightower was a star in its own right. Now, something is about to happen that’ll change all that.” ( 0:40 )
Let Me Finish The Story… The Time Is Now, On A Evening Very Much Of The One We Have Just Witnessed. Tonight’s Story On The Twilight Zone Is Somewhat Unique And Calls For A Different Kind Of Introduction, This Is What You May Recognize Is A Maintenance Service Elevator, Still In Operation, Waiting For You. We Invite You If You Dare To Step Aboard Because In Tonight’s Episode YOU Are The Star. And This Elevator Is Going Directly To… The Twilight Zone! DAAAA NAA NAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (Even Though This Tower Of Terror Has Nothing To Do With The Twilight Zone LOL.)
You unlock this door withe key of imagination, beyond it is another dimension, a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind, your moving into a land of both shadow and substance of things: and ideas you've just crossed over into... Into... Uh, this... This is not The Twilight Zone. What do you? Oh alright (ahem) New York, I think... 1899... Along with the glits and glider of the big apple, Hotel Hightower was a bustling place with notable people at the time checking in, Harrison Hightower however, was too much into collecting treasures from natives to add to his collection. NOW something is about ti happen that will change all that... The time is now... On an evening like the one we have just witnessed, tonights story on... Not sure if this is the twilight zone, is somewhat unique and calls for a different introduction, this as you may recognize is an elevator, still in operation, we invite you if you date to step aboard because in tonights episode, you are the star
Honestly, if they were gong to do something involving the Twilight Zone mixing in this story, it would probably go like this: “You unlock this door with the key of imagination. You are entering a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas you’ve just crossed into... The Twilight Zone. Tokyo, December of 1899. The Hightower Hotel was home to one of the most famed explorers, a one Mr. Harrison Hightower, and creator of the current Hotel. During his travels he would bring home various trinkets and artifacts from his various visits to foreign lands. Warned of bringing an idol of an ancient god to his home resident, Mr. Harrison Hightower brought it nevertheless and added it to his hotel. NOW, something is about to happen that will change the bustling hotel... *Power goes out for a moment, the image glows a sickly green, and the elevator emits energies never seen before, causing the elevator to drop and H. Hightower to suddenly fall 50 Floors down.* The time is now... on an evening like the one we have just witnessed, tonight’s story is somewhat unique and calls for a different introduction. This as you may recognize is a Maintenance Service Elevator, still in operation. We invite you, if you dare, to step aboard and follow Mr. Hightower because in tonight’s episode you are the star... IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE. At least that how to use both methods into one story... a bit better and more edited. Thanks for the help.
0:36 Here we go! Music is amazing! So full of action! I love it! What's the name of the song that takes place in the green explosion? 0:40 Quick demolition Another note: That wave from the explosion went so far that they probably sounded some sirens!
There was, I remember playing as Manfred and Beatrice, exploring the hotel, getting a phone call (presumably) from Hightower in his office, finding the entrance to his vault, accessing the penthouse via a secret passage behind an Aztec goddess statue and finally getting attacked by the idol. Sadly, the site was redacted, and the Wayback Machine won't bring up a working copy of the website...
I well never understand why the commercial is much better done than the fucking real preshow on the ride. That preshow is so amateur hour for disney, they should have never used CGI, and go the liveaction route, is creepier, and doesnt look like complete utter garbage years later. They even had an actor that looked exactly like Hightower for the commercial!
@@fenderstratADHD there was a “movie” of this version of ride, with the same people used in this commercial. it used to be on RU-vid but I don’t know where can it be found today
The California version is getting rid of the Twilight Zone theme and is going to be based on Guardians of the Galaxy, so only Florida will have the Twilight Zone theme.
Hello! I know... what I'm asking is almost impossible. This is where we'll see if the 6 degrees of separation theory is true ;) I'm looking for an extraordinary girl I met at Disneysea Park in Tokyo on July 17, 2023. While waiting in line for the attraction called "Tower of terror", we chatted for several minutes and it was more than charming. One of the two elevators stopped working momentarily, so we had several precious minutes more than normal to chat and show each other pictures of our lives. The very sad thing was that just as we were about to exchange names and contact details, we got separated by the organizers and she had to enter the attraction through one door and I through another. At the exit there were hundreds of people. I waited and searched for this rare pearl, but to no avail. So I'm asking the community to please help me. Please note that I'm a French Canadian who doesn't speak Japanese. We exchanged in English. Here's what I know. This girl spoke very good English. She's Japanese. She must be between 25 and 30. She's about 1.65 meters tall. She's from Nagano and her parents still live there. They have a Shiba dog. I don't know if she still lives there or if she's in Tokyo. Woe is me, it's the most densely populated city on the planet 🤦🏻♂️. She likes snowboarding over there in Nagano. She has a younger brother who went to Whistler in Canada a few years ago to play field hockey. That day at Disneysea on July 17, she was with a friend about the same age as her. That's all I know. That's all I know. As my English isn't perfect, we couldn't go much further in our discussions, but there was that magic we all dream of. I'd love to continue our discussion. I hope this attempt at a reunion doesn't make me sound too crazy 🤪
I don't know, it's just a story, but to find out if there are elevators in 1899, search by Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. By the way, you misspelled elevator by adding an extra L.
lol i have no clue. if they were to talk in japanese this should ahve taken place in japan but nyc looks better but in order for the people in japan to understand the made them speak in japanese. the people in this vid look exactly like the animation
Umm Twilight Zone and it's 1985 revival did air in Japan and I have Japanese tapes that prove it, also Twilight Zone is called "ミステリーゾーン" or "Mystery Zone" in Japan.
This one is not based on the Twilight Zone due to Japan not know g the Twilight Zone. The frame and the ride mechanism is the same as the DCA version. I wasn't much of a fan of the California version.
