There was a Japanese drama in NHK about a highschool boy became a PM with the help of AI. The title is "Highscool prime minister" or somthing. And now is actually happening.
I can't tell if you are being facetious or serious when you say, that AI is the answer. Or you are trying to remain impartial. I love your evolving pronunciation of ChatGTP...ChatGTPT... 😂 Thank you for sharing this very intriguing story...
Is voter turnout higher in Japan? I know in the US it's very low for mayor/governor elections. Also I wonder if most elections are pretty split or won by landslide because in the US, it seems like most if not all elections are pretty split. Appreciated the live stream today John.
@@onlyinjapanGO AI メイヤー platform is interesting. In theory, it's good, but will it really be applicable? That's difficult to say. Depend how much political capital that AI メイヤー has to pull this of. But his idea does have some merit to it.
I think that AI Mayor candidate should be treated seriously.....his agenda especially about corruption makes perfect sense......if we really replace humans with technology like AI they can make decisions fast with impartiality all the time... this is applicable not just in Japan but all over the world
I like the neatly organized political signs; however, why does the candidate with the yellow background have as many signs as everyone else combined? An AI candidate is ridiculous.and condescending to mankind.
I’m going to watch the replay of this John and thanks for this!! in Japan you would see this of course other Asia countries but here especially wish I could talk more about this with you and them there maybe soon I hope!!
Actually I think I would vote too I’ve learned that if Japan is not afraid of this and Robots even then maybe I should not be either again I have learned!! When I would help them too how I still feel!! Appreciate this one again much from you and hopefully again we can chat about!! 🇯🇵🧬🤖🤝🧬🇯🇵
It is possible that the AI-Government system could be managed by AI itself in the future. No need for Royals or ministers. Everything is organized and managed by the AI. Simple. Precise. Efficient. Fair. Human issues - corruption, bullies and discrimination still occur. I work for Government X. There are always issues like this.
Its refreshing that people outside of Canada is following our politics instead of the US. John, how do you feel about being in Japan for so long and not able to vote? Even landed citizens in Canada are able too. Do you think that Japan should finally give out citizenship for expats to grow the economy and birth rate?
I’m fine with it, not voting - I don’t want to engage in politics here. It brings out the worst in people. The wrong people run for office like in most places. Power hungry. But I have hopes that Japan votes more and holds corruption accountable. Zero tolerance for it and it’s as rampant as Canada & US 😔 it’s crazy to allow new arrivals to vote like that unless they’re citizens. Political parties can just allow hordes of people to try to win elections which has long lasting consequences.
The party that is making fun of the whole system and just renting their numerous representatives' ad spaces is more interesting. Still, in some way it is commendable they are even allowed to that. Also the joker guy, at least on his poster, it says he is opposing welfare for foreigners, which is fare enough by me. Don't know if he actually did anything, John seems unsure too.
If foreign residents pay taxes, like me - I would hope they’d get the same services and not suspend them because they’re not Japanese. If so, don’t tax foreign residents. But those taking advantage of the system, 100%!! Being “foreign” does not make everyone of the same mind nor do Japanese all have the same mind. That’s why there are many political parties, many menu items in a menu etc.
@@onlyinjapanGO I do agree with you with paying taxes = same services. Something not many are aware of, but there are certain foreigners in Japan that do get a lot more benefits from the system than they might deserve. With a little to none taxes being paid. Not quite on the scale and level of what is happening in Europe, or the USA. In general, immigration is a net negative to the welfare system in Western Europe. In Japan it is better, I think, but as a foreigner myself, unfortunately I happen to know a few individuals.
What's the voting demographic in Japan now? My wife growing up in Japan never voted, she said people in 20/30s didn't care. So it was just the older generation voting. I guess having coalitions didn't help. Have things changed?
Could you please cover a cash to cash money exchange? Where to do it, what money exchanger you recommend what are the things to watch out to maximise value…
Sure, I covered it when I talk about the exchange rate a few times already but maybe a dedicated episode. DO NOT use exchange vending machines. The rate is criminal. Best to use ATM at 7-11 or JP POST. Cash to cash is not good. Keep it digital as much as possible, airport may be best best. Avoid JP Banks, they take ages!!!!
don't think the voice messages are a good idea to play on the live stream. The sound is very soft and broken. Maybe cool if the audio quality was be better. But either way, good to see you keep looking for new ways to engage with your audience.
Thanks for this. I can’t monitor the audio so I’ll just keep the volume at high. It was an experiment. It was broken, I think the questions (we need questions about Japan) will get better. Every time I update the app, it changes too without saying what exactly was updated 😂 so I have to stay on top of it. It’s good to give it a go and if it fails, try something new.
It is many candidates from a single party that is making fun of the election. They are renting their ad spaces to different people that want to advertise whatever. They realized a loopholes in the rules. Hopes it doesn't get patched.
