Closing act at a Maid Cafe in Tokyo, Japan. In what is truly one of the strangest and surreal moments I've ever captured, the dancing guys with the light sticks are fans that have choreographed their own routine to accompany the "maids".
Those are Idol fans. Or Wotas. The chant is called a MIX and is one of a couple of chants used at live performances by the hardcore fans. I actually got to see Hitomi in Houston at Anime Matsuri convention. She's even more gorgeous on person. It was so cool cause I've only ever seen her on advertisements in Akihabara.
Cristian González the song is called "happy happy morning" (...wakeup call). and is sung by Hitomi & Hakase from @home cafe in this clip. Hitomi is also part of a singer group named "TEAM pure heart"! (jp: "TEAM jyunjyo" rsp. "TEAM純情" in native writing). She's furthermore the head maid of the maidcafe and also administering the cafe's in whole.
OMG! ROCK n ROLL at the Maid Cafe! That was funny and scary lol. So glad the maid on the right seemed to enjoy the attention, while the one on the left seemed scared. Hope to visit this cafe in the future :)
- Maid Cafe - Dancing Act to close out the night - Drunk businessmen going apeshit doing their own makeshift dance right along with them ...I want to say something like 'Japanese culture is weird' but this is par for the course, really.
They handled it pretty well. If i ever had this happen while performing a dance (let alone the closing dance) i would have trouble continuing dancing. I get that thins is an actual thing people do while people perform and that they are just "huge fans" but its super inappropriate and it has to be utterly terrifying. They are definitely drunk or high. Probably drunk. Its like a more extreme version of the drunk guys ive encountered while working a cafe.
