Tokyo Metro Pass review 2023 - Is it worth it? Watch before you go to Tokyo Japan
In this video, we'll talk about what is tokyo metro pass, and why you should buy tokyo metro pass as a tourist. Is it worth it to buy a tokyo metro pass over using Suica or Pasmo to pay your train fares all the way in 2023. We'll talk about the 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours versions and the adult and kids versions and their prices. We'll do a comparison to show how much you save by using tokyo metro pass over paying fares directly with Suica or Pasmo. We'll talk about where you can buy the tokyo metro pass and how to buy it online in Klook app and how to buy it in person at a tokyo train station. We'll show you how to redeem your tokyo metro pass voucher, and use the tokyo metro station machine to scan your QR code to get your tokyo metro pass.

I used this pass the first time to Japan. Its very handy and saved me money because i went everywhere in the 3 days. But I used a Pasmo on my second trip because my partner preferred.a slower pace so sightseeing was limited. Thanks for the video

Live update (just arrived to Japan first time today) asked the woman in the subway (worker) where to purchase the tickets for 72 hrs. She tells me I have to get it at 711. Dude at 711 tells me to go to a fax machine in the corner of the store. Some who spoke English told me to go to Meguro station to get the tickets. That asshile that worked there told me to go to some other station 20 min away. Sad to say, my first day in Tokyo was wasted. No thanks to the locals.

Hi, can i clarify on this? 1. If i started my journey with a non tokyo metro line, i will need to approach the staff to pay for adjusted fair before entering the gate , then exit with the tokyo metro pass 2. If i started my journey from tokyo metro line, I will enter the gate with tokyo metro pass, then approach the staff to pay the adjusted fair before exiting. Are both statement correct?

How does buying a ticket work in rural areas without electronic tickets? On train lines such as Choshi, do you ask for the Stop or Return?
@INeedToTravel
@INeedToTravel 5 месяцев назад
I looked up Choshi has a JR station. There must be a machine and/or staff to buy ticket from. For JR station, you can use Suica or Pasmo on your iPhone if you don’t feel like buying a physical ticket in person there.

Thank you so much for the video. It was really helpful. I still have some questions. Please help me. My hotel is on Yamanote Line which is a JR. Let’s simplify this. I’ll have to go to Shinjuku station a lot so I’ll start my ride with Yamanote Line. Let’s say I want to get off at Shinjuku station. First I go to a person to pay the difference? Is there a machine to do this price adjustment in the beginning? Is there a long line to talk to a person? Would the price be cheaper to do Yamanote line with Suica than with the 72 hr pass? I saw your answer. To go to a place that start with a JR, go to an agent and she’ll calculate for me. Then insert that ticket when enter the JR. Then I use that ticket to exit?

@INeedToTravel
@INeedToTravel 5 месяцев назад
Ya basically since you would start the ride with a JR line you can either buy the ticket at the machine from the JR line to Tokyo metro line or have the staff to calculate for you. No there’s no line coz the local just beeps right through. If you take more than 2 Tokyo metro rides a day, it’s worth it. If you take only one Tokyo metro ride a day then it’s not worth it. That said in Tokyo, I easily took like 4 to 6 train rides a day with a Tokyo metro pass.

No you don’t have to get out of the station first and then get back in with Tokyo metro pass. Since your first station is a JR, assuming you exit at a Tokyo metro station, at yiur shin Okubo station, you go to the gate with a staff and tell them where you are going, then they will calculate the fare that’s not covered by Tokyo metro for you and they will give u a little train ticket.
