Amazing vlog! you I love your energy through out this video. It's been great for me to living in japan for 5 years and now I am doing RU-vid in Japan 😊😊
@@andyye1515 Yes, we purchased a Suica card the second we landed in Haneda airport. However, we used a digital Suica card by loading a Suica card on Apple Wallet. Would highly recommend going this route if you have an iPhone.
@@andyye1515 If you have Apple Wallet you could technically buy it before you even get to Japan. Try it out now. Go onto Apple Wallet and add a Transit Card. You'll see Suica and can add that to your list of cards. Then you can load up the card with your credit card whenever you need to.
Awesome vlog you guys, loeved it. One thing I think you guys should invest in is clip on mics for the real loud noisy areas 😬. Other than that, keep up the great work! 😁
Thanks for the feedback! We have DJI mics that we used at some points throughout the video but we weren't wearing them all the time unfortunately. We'll have to remember to just always wear them. Thanks for watching!
My favorite place in the world to visit and I’ve been to many countries I was there in October went to that same otter cafe had the strawberry’s as well but my favorite place was visiting Kyoto I’m already planning my next trip to Japan
There really is just something different about Japan, right? Japan is unlike any other country in the world! We have our Kyoto vlog coming out soon that you might be interested in watching. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
@@SofieAndStephen thank you for putting out great content I also watched your Morocco trip that has been on my list forever what a beautiful place right now it’s on high alert for us to visit I went to Egypt 3 years ago and never felt unsafe I got from watching that video that Sofie’s family is from there what do you think. Everyone I know that’s been have had a great experience in Morocco
@@enidpolanco8627 Yes, Sofie's father is from Morocco and she had lived in Morocco for some time when she was a little kid. We loved Morocco. It was an amazing place to visit.
Thanks so much for watching! Glad we could help you out! We were in Tokyo in early November and then went back to Tokyo in late November as well. In early November, there were times during mid-day when we were quite warm and sweating a bit, but then it'd be nice and cool at night. In late November it's much colder. Light jacket during the day and multiple layers at night. We'd recommend going in later November if you want cooler weather and want to catch more of the changing colors of fall leaves.
I'm not sure if you can actually make an appointment, but we were able to walk in and only wait about 10 minutes to get in. So not too long of a wait. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for posting! I’ll be in Tokyo for 3 days and Osaka for another 3 days. Do you recommend getting JR East & JR West passes for sightseeing and airport transportation ?
Thanks for watching! We would recommend that you use a JR Pass calculator. You can search it up on google and there's several sites that have this calculator to see if it's financially worth it for you to buy JR Passes. We took this trip right before the JR Pass shot up in price by 60%+. We also traveled to Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and then back to Tokyo. So for us, it made financial sense to buy the JR Pass. But if you aren't going to that many places, it may not make sense. It could make more sense for you to just purchase individual tickets instead of the passes. Once again, check out the JR Pass calculator, input your itinerary, and you'll find out whether or not it makes sense for you to buy the pass.
@@annieng5566 For general transportation around cities like Tokyo or Osaka, as long as you have a SUICA card and can use Google Maps or Apple maps, you'll be fine. We used Google maps and it does a good job of telling you where to go for stations and trains.
Head to Takeshita Street in Harajuku. It's a bit hidden but it is across the way from the Strawberry Fetish cafe where we had the hard candied strawberries. You'll probably see a guy advertising the business with an otter on his shoulder :)
im going to do about the same trip except were not going to hokone, we're going to hike around the kii peninsula. Do you have an actual itinerary of this trip written?
Below is a rough outline of the main attractions and places we went to while in Tokyo. Hope it helps! However if you're asking about the cities we went to, we went to Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima, and back to Tokyo in about 20 days or so. Day 1 Meiji Jingu Harajuku - Takeshita Street Shibuya Crossing Shibuya Parco Mall Day 2 Sensoji Temple Asakusa Don Quijote Akihabara Day 3 Shinjuku KURA Sushi Omoide Yokocho Day 4 teamLab Planets Tsukiji Outer Market Tokyo Station Tokyo Tower
It's still cold in the northern regions. It's a good idea to bring a coat. Other areas are warm if sunny. If you have a coat made of thin fabric, you should be fine. But if the weather is bad, it will be cold... 北の地方はまだ寒い時期です。コートを持っておくと良いです。 他の地域は晴れていれば暖かいです。薄い生地のコートがあれば問題ないでしょう。でも天気が悪いと寒いでしょうね...
Yes we booked a couple months ahead of time. We'd recommend you do the same or else there may not be any available slots left on the day you want to go.
Thanks for the feedback! This was posted in December but filmed in November. During the time it was nice and sunny/warm during the day and chilly at night. Perfect weather if you ask us :)
In Japan, eating while walking is only allowed in limited tourist areas. It is against etiquette to eat or drink in other areas. As a Japanese person, I found it extremely unpleasant to see people sitting on the street eating takoyaki. Many Japanese people are very annoyed by the selfish behavior of foreign tourists.
Yes, we always abided by the rules of no eating or drinking while walking. We always stayed near the restaurant or store we purchased the food from. In the case of the takoyaki, we were eating on the street right in front of the restaurant since it was the only available space to actually eat without standing in the way of people waiting in line to purchase the takoyaki.
Thanks for pointing that out! We spend a lot of time choosing the music for the different parts of the video since music can really impact the feeling of a scene. Thanks for watching!
Nice Vlog, except your visit to the Otter cafe. I'm in Tokyo almost every year, but I have never been and will never go to one of those pet cafes. Seriously an Otter Cafe? Otter belongs in the water and not on people's laps.
Hello! Yes, we understand your concerns about the ethics of the Otter Cafe. The otters seemed to be well-treated and taken care of. And the employees have a lot of respect for the animals. We can only hope that the otters are treated with the greatest care in there. Thanks for taking the time to watch our vlog :)
Hello! Thanks for watching! We booked all of our hotels only 2 months ahead of our stay dates. However, I'd definitely recommend booking your accommodations as soon as you can. We were pretty late with booking accommodations :)
This was filmed in early November! November is a very popular time to visit Japan because of the very moderate to chilly weather. In early November it was warm during the day (mid 70s) and quite chilly at night (high 40s to mid 50s). It was a beautiful time to visit!
My first video of yours I’ve seen. I love you guys and the video. The pace of the video is excellent, so easy to follow along and again you both are so likable. Looks like I’ll be binge watching you the rest of the day. 😂I hope to visit Japan in the next year.
I was surprised there was no game in Kura Sushi when you inserted the plates. I thought this was in all their branches. It's the best part of the restaurant for me XD
If you book the 11am time slot it doesn't guarantee you'll get inside at 11am. There will definitely be a line. I'm sure you could line up at 10am but I'm not sure if that will be too early or not. It really depends on how long the line is at that time. Even if you are somewhat early, maybe they will still let you in.
We seemed to use our card most of the time actually. If we used yen, it was mostly at food street vendors. But inside restaurants and shops we used credit card. But I'd recommend getting a credit card that doesn't have foreign transaction fees.
The only time we used a debit card was to pull money from an ATM at 7/11. Other than that, we either used cash or a credit card. Watch out for foreign transaction fees on debit cards.
