we made it to day in 2 in tokyo! making the most of jetlag with another konbini run in the morning and another loaded day of shopping shibuya!
the highlight of this day was a toss-up between the chaos at Hermes and playing in the Sylvanian Families raffles. after going to Le Labo the day before, i was handed a card by a woman from the store nearby - i noticed it was a fragrance sample from Hermes - and omg it smelled so good, even john and my dad were obsessed with it. the name of the fragrance was handwritten on the card in japanese, so my dad translated it on an app and screenshotted what the bottle looked like (kasi he wanted me to get him one if i ever came back to the store). since my birthday was coming up, i also decided to go for a big girl purchase, since i don't own any fragrances. so the next day, we went back and the sales ladies were so excited that i came prepared - screenshot of the bottle and all. but when i got there to smell the sample in store... it smelled different 💀 plus, i left the card at home (i cri). i think it's because we were inside and the place already had a mix of scents. it took us sooo long to figure it all out - we kept retesting samples and even attempted to write out the characters we remembered from the card. until i asked the sales lady to write the name of the scent in japanese - and when it matched the characters i saw in my head, i knew it was the one! (it was the same bottle all along) and john ended up gifting it to me for my bday hehe
on the other hand, i also woke up that morning KNOWING i would play in the Sylvanian Families raffle, and i felt it deep in my soul that i would win the car - i also kept telling myself that i had the luck to draw the grand prize that day, but the universe wouldn't allow it since i had limited baggage for the flight back home (not to mention - another week or so of backpacking)! i paid about $13 total for 2 raffles and won prizes that were at least $20 each - so it was well worth it! i would go to this mall in the philippines when i was younger, probably as young as 4 or 5 years old, and would ask my grandma to get me SF - but at the time, it was too expensive. as an adult, i'm so happy i get to heal my inner child - going to the pop-up and bringing home my own figurines was such a joy 🥹🤍
i wish i could share everything i experienced, but i hope these highlights show you how much fun i had (despite my anxiety lol) 🥰
