This book is so amazing, my mind was blown several times reading it. Tolkien is a true catholic hero and genius! And he was so stealthy about it. Thank you Mr List for unraveling it all! Every Christian catholic should read the book, it contains so much more than this interview could begin cover!

Wow, this is very interesting. I always thought 'The Lord of the Rings' was rich with themes and allegories, but it took 20 years to finally see its hidden meaning....

Paul List truly has a heart for the truth - i've worked with him in the past and his desire for others to know the truth is contagious. I'm so glad he's been able to get his book out in the public domain. People would eat up what he has to offer, but it's not for the faint of heart!

Get a copy and read it. Are you up to the challenge? This book, Mount Doom, is for everyone, even for readers who are not fans of Tolkien or the Tolkien movies. It is not an easy read, but neither is Tolkien. I must admit I had never read any of the books or seen the movies. In the last three months I have read Mount Doom twice, The Silmarillion, and I am nearly finished my second time through The Hobbit and LOTR. And I'm glad I did. The interpretation of Tolkien contained in Mount Doom rings true. Consider the challenge presented by Paul List at the close of the book: (1) reject moral relativism and take responsibility for your own education, (2) cast off the Ring of Power in your life, (3) reorder your life getting rid of sin and addiction, and (4) live a life of heroic holiness by becoming a Saint.

Amazing! So much just fell into place. I loved the books, the movies were amazing but missed so many salient points (I guess there's only so much screen time). One thing I wished was commented on here was the journey across Mordor by Frodo & Sam - I think it was one whole book dedicated to that and I remember being completely exhausted after reading it. There ought to be a Traditional Latin Mass for those who want it. Not everyone does and being the cause of scandal in this regard is egregious. I dont think John Tolkien would have appreciated much of what is represented here. He did not want people to allegorize his fiction and impose their own interpretations upon it, like a rationalistic protestant.
