Some of the directors, have huge respect in Telugu for their unique scripts and taking 1. K Vishwanath 2. Chandrashekar yeleti 3. Sukumar 4. Gunnam gangaraju
K vishwanath really belongs to a different league... He did socially relatable movies yet made them entertaining and were huge hits... that's real work,.

1. SVR was praised to the skies in a film festival in Moscow for his portrayal of Keechaka in Narthanasala. 2. Legend NTR did most of his experimentation in roles based on Mahabharatha & Ramayana. As India was pro communist until 1992, they didn’t pay him much attention. His roles as Ravana in Seetharamakalyanam & Duryodhana in Srikrishnapandaveeyam deserved national awards imo. Btw he directed both those films.

Telugu audiences and fans expect wholesome entertainers from popular actors. If you go back in time, Chiranjeevi Garu acted in social/rooted films before crazy stardom and Bala Krishna Garu did fantastic films like Adithya 369 and Bairavadepam. Chiranjeevi Garu has great potential and wholesome actors, he should go for Content-driven films.
I think C/O kancharapalem should’ve won national award for best film but didn’t even considered because the producer was a NRI so i think it’s a snub for us. But I can’t think of any other film that’s worth it. The main reason why we havent won national awards because we try to bring some sort of commercial elements into movies and I don’t think it’s wrong. Jagadam , RGV’s shiva and Rangasthalam are national award worthy films but didn’t reach there because of it’s commercial elements but I think those commercial elemnts are the one’s that made those films memorable and blockbusters for us 🤷🏻♂️ So can’t accept on one point with our industry it’s so fucked up😂
commercial elements are one of the other aspects taken into consideration for selecting a film for national award. because if it was just commerciality then asuran and sorrorai pottru wouldnt have won the award. but the problem is we dont know what the other aspects are. 🙃 sorry about putting this half-baked counterpoint but thats what i can say about commerciality. that it is not the only thing stopping us.
@@Sajteman asuran and soorarai pottru are raw and they don’t have item songs and they won national awards. Bahubali 1 which won national award has an item song called manohari. I don’t think it’s commerciality that decides which film will get national award. I believe it has to do with all 24 crafts to bag that national award. If the same commerciality looks routine and old, then no one likes those movies.
@@saikiranme402 I don’t think the problem is just with the movies but with the jury as well. A film like wolf of wall street will never be considered for anything remotely close to a national award whereas in the states it got 5 oscar nominations and maybe if our mainstream actors decide to do a film like that will open the eyes of jury to not only nominate movies that are just artsy but have a compelling story that has been told to cover a wider audience. It’s so convoluted that we can’t decide for a solution for this😂
@@swaroopmahesh6754 the indian jury mostly consists of quite older people only currently… their logics and choices are pretty very ordinary in style when coming to awards. They are just like Indian selectors of cricket. Sometimes they look good, but they could never be perfect and hence get criticised very easily

1. 100 crores Collection vs National Award Award 2. Impressing Audience Vs impressing Jury 3. Making movies on regional culture, Caste discrimination, others conflicts with half knowledge vs Elevating one character 4. Experimental fim making vs Successful template film 5. Investing in technology vs Using current technology 6. Taking a fresh approach towards story telling vs Inspired story telling Have a debate on the topics Anna. Awards are never a measure of talent. Krishna Vamsi gari Sindhuram and Nag Ashwin gari Yevade Subramanyam deserves all the credits for a good film. There might be better films in other industries that year in the opinion of jury. What matters is the satisfaction of viewers after watching the Movie (worth of spending their time and Money)
@@Ezekiel_25-17 There is nothing called wrong side in this. It's the path that a director chooses to impress the audience. TFI usually doesn't care much about awards. That's pretty evident. Awards are not the ultimate measure of talent.

If our people don't recognise such movies, how can nation ? Some balakrishna movies like Aditya 369, Bhairava dweepam
I agree with every single word you said. The problem with tollywood is that it has so many stars and very few actors. Even good actors were forced to become stars and betray the art of filmmaking. Caste feeling is another reason.

It's true that Senior actors in Telugu are on the safer side choosing remakes or their strong zones over the top actions. Meanwhile Mammootty, Mohanlal, Shivanna (Kannada), Amitabh, Kamal Hassan they are doing age based movies irrespective of the characters.

I totally agree with you. After watching content from other industries I feel TFI lacks creativity. Most stars usually make only template movies. Was really waiting for this from you bro. Wont totally agree on directors because they do have content/creativity but your observations on heroes is 1000% right. Expand this analogy to producers as well, because they are the fuel to any idea. Without the duo of Shobhu-Prasad even Bahubali would be powerless. Majority of producers run behind heroes and coerce writers/directors to suit taste of mass audiences, as if it were some biryani in a hotel. As far as I remember, the last time a male actor really worked his ass off to produce something super convincing was Nagarjuna for Annamayya. Everything after that was either reproduced or done without sincerity. Arjun Reddy and Chitti babu (Rangasthalam) come close but no where near Annamayya. Even Nagarjuna himself could not repeat, glimpses available in Sri Ramadasu, Oopiri. Only Nani can get accolades, if things go very well in the next 4-5 years. NTR Jr might compete. Others, not even worth the time
2:54 Exactly I feel the same way whenever we make good films in revenue or in content this is question they point out 😞. And hope we will get a national award in future *Nani* should have get the national award for *jersey* . For asuran dhanush got the award. But they should have given to both. This year surya and ajaydevgn both share the award for best actor In 2019 ayushman(andhadhun) and vicky kaushal(uri) both got the best actor But for nani they haven't given 😞
There isn’t even one k Viswanath film which won a national award. I feel if there’s anyone who deserves national awards from Telugu, it’s K Viswanath and his films
The review we needed😎 yeah this was the point I always had discussions with my friends but in the end telugu films are generating money and ppl here forgot that cinema is an art form Its a tragedy and i feel that this is not going to change in this generation atleast
Bhayya majula gari 2002 movie from telugu. Won a lot of awards with very low budget with only 2 characters. Sankarabharanam is a path breaking movie.. Shiva is a trendsetter.. SV Ranga Rao garu got a best actor in Jakarta international film awards..He is the first Indian actor who got international award.. Chiranjeevi Kamal and Rajni came from Bala chander school..He told that Chiranjeevi = Kamal + Rajni.. When it comes to Mammutti Mohan Lal Kamal, they acted in character artist roles.. They have acted in many worst movies.. My simple point is many Bengali movies got awards as they have shown poorest and worst side of our nation.. My conclusion is every language film industry has it's own pros and cons.. Nothing is bigger.. I'm a lover of entertainment and genuine movies..

👍 Good Critique for Positive Telugu Filmmaking. Good points about your views about Telugu Movies. Kamal Hassan gained more fame bcoz of K vishwanath movies. Last part where you said don't do hate speech trending etc, do only if you're getting paid reminded me of joker quote, "If you're good at something never do it for free" and I'll say my mind kinda shifted after your line, that was intense. Apart from that, even though I agree with many of your points, I think I understand why the system is like the way it is. I hope to write an article or something on it, if and when I become free from my regular day job. I'll share it for you to look at if and when it's done. Until then, Happy reviewing. Keep doing what you're doing, great work!!
While talking about Kaithi, I think he meant to say 'genre' movies and not 'template' movies. Template movies are those that are being made by us, taking a tried and tested template, changing actors and doing it again.
Yes, I agree with you. I always think the mid 90's, 2000's lo unna most of the directors, producers mana TFI ni baaga commercialize chesi, industry tho patu audience ni kuda chedadobbaru....

I remember Annamaya had received some special jury mention. Like many said there are many unknown criterion to select a movie for the award. I strongly felt Mallesham should have won the award at least in one category among many,. Also recent award for Surya's film is in Tamil Category. Above all awards are given in democratic way(voting system) which makes the whole process very preferential/ subjective to an individual.
In my view, Chiru definitely deserved best actor awards for Rudraveena, SwyamKrushi/Aapadhbhandhavudu, etc... these performances were better than many national awards-winning performances in the respective years and best actor/film awards are having the hand of politics according to the political dynamics of different languages! I agree with many of your views in the video, but I am surprised that there's no mention of Nani.
In an interview Dr. K balachandrar who introduced both Kamal Hassan and Rajanikanth said that chiranjeevi is mixture of both of them. But few movies of chiranjeevi really deserving national award (Rudraveena and swayam krishi ) But in between telugu cinema has completely tend towards commercial elements than acting and name. In commerical point of view telugu cinema is only one which contributes more than other industries. ( In my view) Telugu audiance also tend towards stars rather than real actors. 14:05 can add trivikram also 20:27 same feeling I really feel bad that we don't have director like manitahnam

Movies are not just art. They are source of entertainment, joy, relaxation, and motivation. And currently, I believe telugu movies are providing the most wholesome movies compared to any other industry. Go back to your roommates and ask them to to binge watch so called national award movies from last 10 years for one complete day and you go and binge watch the best telugu of last 10 years and see how you both feel at the end of the day. I agree that telugu movies can get better and they are getting a lot better and a lot faster than any industry. See what the other industries have done in the past and what they are doing now. Their evolution is soo minuscule compared to ours. We have been the path maker for soo many upcoming movies. We are not inferior to any and if anybody says that it's mostly because they are jealous of our industry.
Perfect point. 70% audience in any film industry don't care about awards/collections. They just watch movies for entertainment and fun. Fans and so-called 'Cinephiles' are the ones who make unnecessary noise about all these things

Bro, I guess you missed Trivikram garu in Directors list. May be you can express your opinion on him if you make another video from the comments, suggestions received from this video. In my opinion Trivikram garu also can make movies with Good script, dialogues but he is not taking any risks and making movies only with star heroes. Also coming to one good thing of our Telugu movies is duration.
