Big thanks to tolman's concepts about purposive behaviorism, I too believe that learning is a cognitive process.

I do agree with Tolman that "Learning is a cognitive process. Thank you so much ma'am for this well explained video. It is indeed true that we can learn even though we are far from each other. Manuel, Eden A. BSED 3 English

Tolman was a psychologist who made important contributions to the field of learning and motivation. One of his key concepts was the idea of "purposive behavior," which refers to the idea that animals and humans are motivated by goals and purpose, rather than simply by stimuli and rewards. Tolman believed that animals and humans have mental maps or cognitive representations of their environment, and that these mental maps guide their behavior and help them to achieve their goals. He also emphasized the role of cognitive processes, such as attention, perception, and memory, in shaping behavior. Michelle Sadao BSED 3 English

Tolman thought that people act on their views, attitudes, changing circumstances, and pursuit of goals rather than passively reacting to inputs. Tolman is essentially the only behaviorist who rejected the stimulus-response theory on the grounds that learning can take place without reinforcement. Mark D. Belino BSD ENG 3

In Tolman's purposive behaviorism, behavior suggested performance, the attainment of a different relationship between the organism and its environment; behavior was pragmatic and functional; motivation and cognition were involved; and behavior reflected purpose. PIMENTEL, FRENZ BSED 3 SCI

Purposive behaviorism is a theory of psychology that combines elements of both behaviorism and purposeful, goal-directed behavior. The theory suggests that behavior is shaped not only by external rewards and punishments, but also by internal goals and desires. I think this means that behavior is not only a response to environmental stimuli, but also a means of achieving a desired outcome or goal. Purposive behaviorism emphasizes the role of motivation in shaping behavior, and suggests that behavior is driven by the individual's needs, wants, and desires. This theory also suggests that behavior is not always directly determined by the environment, but can also be influenced by internal factors such as cognition and emotion. Angel Kirovin B. According to Tolman, practice cannot assist the learner in the first selection of the correct response. A relationship cannot be formed based just on frequency. Edward Tolman pioneered the field of purposeful behaviorism in psychology. It incorporates the study of conduct as well as the aim or objective of behavior. Tolman believed that learning evolved from knowledge of the environment and how the organism interacts with it. Shyla Morales BSED 3-Science

VENTURA, LORENDA RAFAEL BSED 3-ENGLISH *According to Tolman's sign theory, learning is learned through meaningful action. Learning occurs when an organism follows cues to a goal. The organized nature of learning was stressed by the author. "The stimuli which are allowed in are not connected by just simple one-to-one switches to the outgoing responses, but rather the incoming impulses are usually worked over and elaborated in the central control room into a tentative cognitive-like map of the environment, and it is this tentative map, indicating routes and paths and environmental relationships, which ultimately determines what responses, if any, the animal will make," he wrote. *Tolman believed that learning is a cognitive process. Learning involves forming beliefs and obtaining knowledge about the environment and then revealing that knowledge through purposeful land goal-directed behavior.

Tolman's Purposive behaviorism focuses on one's behavior while achieving his/her goal. Other teachers uses or observe his/her students through their behavior to determine how they're going to react on a certain situation. According to Tolman, reinforcement in not essential for learning. Learning exist even without reinforcers. He simply say that we can learn something without reinforcement. Re-chelle Dencio BSED 3-Science

Tolmans's theory reminds us that we can learn even without reinforcer. Thus, if we wanted to learn, we find ways on how to achieve them. Our goal and purposes is connected to our behavior. Behavior is like our channel that we needed to adjust accordingly to what does the situation is asking for, on the way to our goals.
