To take on Sergei Pavlovich on 2 weeks notice for the heavyweight title takes balls of steel. People should speak more about the magnitude of that achievement.
@@godmodesif he Jon can’t control Aspinal on the ground then Jon will get Ko or be hurt several times and Jon can’t strike anymore he’s slow and old and can only wrestle
This fight had my favorite staredown ever. Two guys who understood that there was nothing personal about it and genuinely liked each other, but one of them had to go to sleep based on the styles... This fight, while it lasted, was a true classic.
NICE ! Someone else who understands what the start of the fight was about . Two warriors about to punch the hell out of one another showing respect and understanding that there can be only 1 left standing .
All the shots were at his temple. That's why Sergei was done. Sergei has an iron chin on him but he got constantly hit on his temple 3-4 times in a row. That will KO anyone. I'll say very unlucky for Sergei. Tom Aspinall is the champ ❤
@mannyblackstar Tom is too fast for pavl even his reach advantage didn't help also he has zero footwork compared to English man he's not ready to be top
@@Fung-Fung that’s be a genius iq move especially if denying it was part of the plan. some fighters do some crazy things. Matt Lindland wouldn’t shower multiple days before fights so he’d smell awful whenever he’d clinch with anyone it’d throw them off 😂 so who knows?
''There's never been a guy like me. 6'5, 260lbs, 12 inch cock, 200 IQ, moves like a welterweight. You just can't prepare for it. I'm the fastest finisher in the UFC. The fans love it, my wife hates it. I truly believe I am the best heavyweight alive right now.'' - Tom 'Honey Badger' Aspinall
Dude has really fast hands. He'd have fast hands if he were in the 205 division. Dude weighs 260 lbs. after training for a fight. Also can hold his own on the ground. Pavlovich did clip him very early in that round and while he was stunned for a moment he didn't collapse, which means he can take a big shot. That's a serious problem for any heavyweight opponent ever -- including if it ever happened JBJ.
tom has great subtle head movement, he moved just enough to take heat off that punch…boxing 101 my friend , Tom wouldn’t be eating a flush shot from that Russian Man Beast lol
Hold his own on the ground? He's more dangerous than anyone in the UFC on the ground. That's not hyperbole. Stat wise, he has the greatest submission attempt record in the UFC. And guys like Volkov and Arlovski do not get subbed easily, so it's not like his competition was shit.
I thought Tom was gonna get clipped any second and he really just had the perfect shot to catch Sergei while he was open because Sergei was milimeters from connecting clean. Could have gone the other way so easily. That's the heavyweight game. Tom admitting he was having trouble with the distance tells you how close that fight was to ending completely different.
People who says what happened b4 the fight was to gauge the distance are honestly stupid.. If you wanna know what made him know the distance, it's the punch he received in his face.
I love that all the people who were certain that Pav was going to win, are now refusing to acknowledge that, and have switched to "Well Aspinall will never beat (insert name)" 😂 how many times do you want to be proved wrong?
