maybe in the SB, but when you look at the whole season, Mahomes was only sacked 1 less time (27) than Brock! (28)...so, it would seem that even KC's o-line wasn't doing its job in really protecting Mahomes all season!

The fact is they’ve only gone OL in the first round once in 8 drafts with the team, and that was Mike McGlichey who they didn’t re-sign. It’s a fact that they don’t prioritize OL, it’s your opinion whether that’s a mistake or not. If you’d like a comparison, the Chiefs have taken OL in the first round in recent years and they just beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

I’d just like to see them prioritize the tackles. I think if you have great bookend tackles, you can figure out the middle of the OL. For instance I really like what the Chargers did, drafting Joe Alt to go with Rashawn Slater.

That's because Kyle's offense is predicated on them taking dink and dunk passes for TDs. Kyle figures since he wants the ball out in less than 2.5 seconds that's all he needs his line to be able to last.

Drafting in the OL position is the cheapest thing you can do. If they are really good you will have to make a decision eventually buy not right away. We got good years out of Bosa, Kittle, Deebo, Aiyuk etc. Before we had to pay them. That's what good drafting does.

They got Garoppolo in 2017 - Brady wasn't available. When he left the Pats in 2020, he was interested in Dolphins, then Bucs. I remember seeing articles then he had no interest in the 49ers. Can you provide evidence of anything else? In 2023, Shanahan even told Purdy he would dump him for Brady immediately.

PFF ranked 49ers offensive line 18th in 2023 and 7th in 2022. The Chiefs were 3rd in 2023 and 4th in 2022. The 6 top ranked teams all made the playoffs.

The O line was much better in 2019.

I believe at 31 most of the Tackles were of the board as well as the 2 best centers. A OL pick was out, my pick would have been Cooper Dejean CB. Then moving up to get the player they really wanted Rosengarten Tackle. Picked one spot ahead of them at 62.

Chiefs prioritize OL, Ravens have issues with offensive play calling and quarterback play.

Mahomes didn’t beat the Ravens. Lamar beat the Ravens. Mahomes didn’t intercept pass in the end zone or fumble at the goal line.

But the oline was a top 10 oline for all SB wins but one and I think they were ranked 16th one year but still ranked in top 5 in PPG that year. Niners offense was in the 20’s last year and it was clearly the oline that failed them last year. Especially when an injury happened. They probably do not lose though if the two injuries did not happen in game. One with Jon and one with Dre. There replacements made costly mistakes.

The Seahawks were bottom 10 when they won it 11 years ago and they were near dead last the next year . The steelers in 2008 were not that great as well. the Vikings when they went 16-0 had a terrible Oline in 99 . And it's also funny because the Cowboys were ranked at the top a decade ago. Point being . The 49ers Oline didn't sit on lawn chairs the past 4 years .They made it to the NFCC and Superbowl . It's also pretty evident because people are clammoring Right side help when it's actually the blindside which is most important. Teams can win with a bad offense. Teams can win with a bad defense. Teams can win with a subpar QB. Giants won a SB while barely making into the playoffs. It’s just not the norm and it is a glaring weakness and yes blindside is more important but if right side is weak then you just send your strong rush on right side which creates pressure. If you watched the last SB you can clearly see that the oline was the issue. The best QB in the world presently could not win without a good oline. KC vs TB. What did KC do after that loss? They greatly improved their oline and now they have won two Sb’s since then. The reason Niners fans are screaming to fix the oline is because they have watched the games and they see where the weakness is on the team. There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve the oline and the team. In fact, for 3 years KC Oline has had the most penalties called on them during regular season but in SB’s they do not call holding on oline so if Niners get an improved Oline that can hold in SBs then they can dominate. They can take advantage of the NFL bias towards offense in SBs. What can get you to a Super Bowl is not always what can win you a Super Bowl. AFC clearly was the better conference. Niners went 2-4 last year against AFC. This includes the SB. Only losses to playoff teams and one win against the Steelers which was one of the weaker AFC playoff teams. All the AFC teams Niners lost too, minus Cincy, had great Olines. And all of them had great defenses.
