Tom is an English blues guitarist based in Boston, MA. His mission is to provide authentic blues sounds in the Chicago, Texas, Delta and West Coast styles. He never fails to get the crowd jumping and dancing! Tom Caswell leads one of the most exciting blues bands in the state of Vermont. The band consists of Missisquoi Slim on Hammond organ, Ben Weber on bass and Jeff Salisbury on drums and vocals. Missisquoi Slim started playing piano as a teenager when he was introduced to Muddy Waters and Jerry Lee Lewis records. He is self taught and started playing out in bands by the time he was 16. In the early 2000’s he recorded two CD’s as a member of the Nobby Reed Project. This led to sharing stages with Room Full of Blues, Eddie Money, Blues Traveler, Rod Piazza, Mighty Flyers and countless other national acts. Since that time he has remained active in the Northern VT Blues scene and joined the Tom Caswell Band in 2021. Ben “Benny” Weber grew up in Central Vermont. He began his career as a bassist when he was allowed to join the U-32 High School Jazz Band on the condition that he played the beat up old Gibson EB-2 bass they handed him. The rest was history. He went on to tour up and down the east coast playing clubs with a variety of acts. Schooled in a variety of styles, he’s studied with Patrick Pfeiffer out of the Manhattan jazz scene and Danny Morris of the Berklee College of Music as well as Aram Bedrosian locally in Burlington. He now lives outside of Burlington and makes his living playing blues, pop, jazz, and R&B. Jeff Salisbury has drummed for Albert King, Son Seals, Larry Davis, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Linda Tillery, and Cold Blood, as well as many Jazz and Pop artists over the years. After teaching drum set at the University of Vermont for 25 years, he is delighted to play music for the rest of his life.
