Ghost Recon Wildlands has one of the most beautiful and immersive open world environments I have ever seen. I don't have as much time to play these days, but I constantly feel the pull and often succumb to the urge to jump into this world and just gaze at the beauty and attention to detail. The vistas are AMAZING and the NPC inhabitants make the place feel alive and lived in (something that its successor Breakpoint failed at).
Gotta agree Chris, Wildlands has always been that game I'm happy to jump back into. I'm goign to try playing Breakpoint again, but I'd doubt it will grab me like this game does.
@@DRAXGAMING I've tried so many times to play Breakpoint, and I force my self to play, but just can't seem to be able to do it. I always come back to Wildlands it's just fun to play and it's so enjoyable. I was never able to play it multiplayer though, my friends didn't like it.
They went from one of the most immersive, detailed, living open worlds with wildlands, to one of the most empty, dead, boring open worlds with break point.
@@InglesSpanishConversation Exactly! Heck, I took countless screenshots at 10,060 x 6,300 pixels resolution using Ansel (each jpg image about 20-40MB in size), and every once in a while I go in that folder to enjoy looking at them. I still have plans to make an 8K video out of it and release it on RU-vid, they look great, and it helps that I'm a skilled digital artist and photographer, to make sure that I didn't take boring shots.
I remember infiltrating a base during daytime, and was wondering why the base felt so empty. Apparantly, not only do the npcs sleep at night but they also eat during daytime. Most of the enemy npcs except for the snipers in the towers were in their mess hall, eating food. Funny thing is I noticed they sat pretty close to eachother around a table area. So I sent my drone in with explosive payload and made sure it was their last meal :P Love this game.
Coming from Farcry to this game in insane. I can't believe I've been sleeping on this game for 7 years, it's the perfect game for me. I'll easily have 1000 hours soon enough.
I think the thing I really love to do in Wildlands is roleplaying alone, feeling lost in a heavy rain in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by cartel members and in fear everytime I see a Unidad patrol. The thing that make Wildlands shine for me is the atmosphere
I recently started playing this game this year after hearing so much about it and breakpoint and i gotta say, it is one of the most fun and immersive open world games I've ever played. Even today, it's hard to believe this game is 6 years old, it's amazing.
It’s been a few years since I’ve played, but unless the servers are dead, I highly recommend giving multiplayer a go. I love pve games, and overall this was one of the best in the ps4 era.
This game is absolutely amazing. I just played for the first time this last week and can't put it down. I wasn't gaming much back in the late 2010's so I missed this one. I'm so glad I did! Because let me tell you, they DO NOT make open world games this big, with this much content, for a 1.0 release anymore. Base game Wildlands is the equivalent of a game plus 3 DLC in 2024. It's crazy how fast the gaming industry fell into greed and shortcuts.
The thing about sniping in Wildlands is that, yes, while you're correct that the bullet drop off is very exaggerated compared to real life, it does mean that you have to actually build some knowledge of distance and bullet speed. Some sniper rifles are faster than others, which makes finding them or looking for them that much more valuable, because now you're able to pull off sniping easier. And it just feels good to get it right. So, I'm perfectly fine with it the way it is.
If they wanted to replicate something like wildlands, they could do something in Africa involving arms trafficking, with factions...something gritty like far cry 2.
Wildlands will always have a special place in heart, Breakpoint is definitely a great game after all the updates it’s been given, I just hope its given an offline mode someday
I completed this game twice and cherish it a lot. I love the beautiful variation of terrains and aliveness of it all. Despite being a tactical stealthy action shooter game, I had many therapeutic moments just walking through forests, along beaches and up mountains just soaking up the vibe of it. I just wish the day-night cycle was a little slower and that the bodies didn't didn't disappear once dead, which spoiled the realism of it a fair bit.
It was a buggy mess at launch, and the store front and loot box system was a bit gross, but overall it’s one of my favorite pve games of the PS4 era. Made a lot of friends with randoms. Playing the ghost mode and getting the gold Exo suit was one of my favorite accomplishments of any game in that era.
I loved the game when it launched, then with updates it got even better (I played on Xbox One first) eventually bought it for PC to crank the graphics up and potentially mod (never did). This game still holds up, there are some QoL things from Breakpoint that I wish were in Wildlands, but it is still great given its age. The art style and the world in Wildlands is just so good, Auroa feels so empty even though it is way bigger, there is a World Parameter though that kind gives it that Wildlands vibe though and it’s ironically called “Resistance” so having that on and playing the Conquest story will give you Wildlands vibes (not the same, but close enough)
I just keep getting back to Wildlands every 6 months and i’m not even a heavy gamer. For the last year it’s been the only game i’ve played. For me wildlands is just pure perfection and will NEVER be boring
I want to say I love this game cause it's my preferred blend of arcade shooting and realism, but it's probably more the lived in world (npc's everywhere),the set design/landscapes and the gunsmith. It's absolutely beautiful, and I love the gunsmith. I had trouble initially so I looked into what weapons were best, and found DarkDally. I did some of my own experimenting, and while nothing carries or screws you over, i have found weapons that work 'better' for me. I like the MPX or the AUG for my primary, the BFG 50A or MK14 as secondary, and I always run a USG 5.7, but there are 2 other pistols that are about as good. I used to like staying at extreme range, but I've been getting more comfortable with my MPX close range, even in tier mode. That little thing spits quick, with the SSAG it has *tight* groupings for the range you use SMG's in game, I use the COMPM4 scope, folded stock and silenced. The BFG is my most used weapon, cause it's anti-material. So for every shot at a helo it scores 6 kills, most vehicles it gets 3 per shot and its got the rate of fire of a SR25, PLUS when you put on the TARS101 and zoom in, you get 9x magnification, 50% more zoom than any other scope/rifle combination in game, it's imo the only gun in game that truly puts the odds in your favor, the SR25 Jungle has a crap scope, it's a DMR not a Sniper Rifle so I tend to push into a range where I can be caught, not so with the 9x mag scope on the BFG, 300-500m is comfortable ty. Even though the MPX is a nice little gun, I do love the AUG. I use it like a DMR, the AUG's best ballistics spec has the same bullet drop as a G28 (short barrel), similar damage, but less penetration, with the rate of fire of a SMG, and 225 rounds. Lowest bullet drop of any non-sniper in game. I get all 3 rounds on target from a burst at 200m, which usually kills alert heavies. I like the digital scope, its 2 zoom levels imo are ideal for the DMR range, with the least movement penalty (comparable to ACOG). I run a V4 grip and range finder, with a compensator V2, cause i use accuracy to get distance, to stay silent; at least with the AUG. But I am learning how to use a Stoner LMG, to see how fun LMG's are now that i'm skilled.
Gunsmith is a great tool, top tips with those gun choices. I've been trying a few more out myself especially at higher tiers, I'm finding the higher fire rate SMGs when thing get heated are basically a necessity.
@@DRAXGAMING SMG's are really clutch in a good firefight, for the first few hundred hours I didn't equip them correctly/know how to play with them, but they're so much fun. I haven't seen anyone use the TARS101 on the BFG on youtube, you could be the first to demo the best in game scope on YT. Lots of people don't like the BFG cause it doesn't have the amo capacity of a MSR and it only does the damage of a stock HTI, but they also don't know about that scope; which fixes the second most common criticism of in-game snipers: no high-zoom scopes. Going from 6x to 9-10x is a game-changer.
Never played anything Tom Clancy before, but just borrowed this one from a friend so will be good fun trying it out for size. I like Far Cry, Assassins Creed, Sniper Elite and so on so hopefully this will do the trick for me and keep me entertained for a while.
The setting of the game is amazing, but some things feel so outdated like the gunplay and sound. I wish Breakpoint mechanics had Wildlands settings. The difficulty to mod it also makes it so sad, there was so much potential.
Yeah, I gotta check Breakpoint out again, that gunplay does look better in nearly every area. Maybe n the next Ghost Recon game we'll get the perfect mix of gunplay & setting. 🤞
Started playing this with my best gaming friend in 2017 when it first came out. Just started playing it again with him. It's still amazing. A game ahead of it's time. (Like Titanfall 2). Love the mechanics in Wildlands and all the nuisances in the character movement system. We play on advanced because imo arcade mode makes the game boring. Thanks for making this video! Love this. ❤❤
Part 2. I got the predator mask when "the Jungle moved" mission was available. My friend didn't. So sad that the mission was removed but those who have the mask have a badass trophy.
It’s the only Ubisoft I have on my Xbox since it released together with For Honor. Back then Wildlands got pretty average reviews and reception but it aged very well. The authenticity is surprisingly great. I remember on my first mission while scouting a location I heard a bird in the game I heard (in the mornings) while living in South America for a while. Beuatiful!
just watched mate, good vid, bang on with the info , i have enjoyed playing through with you like a invisible squad of wraiths in the night....hoo rah!...semper fi :)
I’d give Breakpoint another try especially since you can buy it on sale. It’s a lot better since launch and it’s a great game to play co op with some friends.
hey guys I been playing this and breakpoint equally the last few weeks and fell in love deeply... sadly I like the way breakpoint feels more... far as being able to roll on the ground and set the camera to further back so you can see ur entire body from head to toe - also really prefer the clothing in breakpoint BUTTTT wildlands overall is a much better game though aside from some of the aesthetic choices ive mentioned. the world is way more better and lively... plus the cartel setting is something ive waited for my entire life with the GTA series but rockstar insists on only doing bank heist or robbery "heat" inspired games seeing that was 5's premise & looks to be VI's premise also smh. anyhow lol anyone whose on PS5 and wants to play with me potentially I would be very open to play with other folks seeing as I been doing it all solo which is fun but I would love to try this with a real squad - I'm a mature 32 year old male from Canada - down to role play but also be casual and have fun and laugh. tag down below anyones gamer tags & ill add you ASAP.
Agreed, one of the best open-world shooters ever. I've plated and replayed the whole thing many times. The combination of the world, NPC interactions, story, customisation, etc, is great. Unfortunately GR Breakpoint was a total disappointment in all of these areas except perhaps the customisation.

I thought i was the only playing Wildlands again. I forgot what i came on here to look up. The driving and flying is fun, instead of a chore on Breakpoint. Oh yea, i was trying to remove the hub on my xBox
I bought the complete edition of wildlands last year. And never played it. But starting to play it on on ps5 and damn i can't stop playing it i love this game now.. the map is huge and everything about this game is just fun... plus you can play wildlands totally offline.. break point is online only witch is dump so never bought that one. By the looks of it i bought the best edition anyways wildlands..
Haven't tried this game yet, but loved the Splinter Cell and old school GR games. Kinda fell off with GRAW, it was fine but not what I wanted, maybe I'll give this one a go cause a military shooter is something I want to play at the moment.
I have actually just purchased ghost recon wildlands a couple of weeks ago and i love the game solo and coop. I also like the fact that you can go stealthy or just pure chaos. That is why is also like the rebels. There is only 1 downside and that is that sometimes my game crashes and i don't know why. Can somebody maybe help?
Only 2 things I can really think of is; 1: Verify Files, and 2: Update Graphics Driver. I had a friend who was crashing recently and verifiying the files fixed it so I hope that works for you.
You're one comment about suppressors bugged me a little. You realize that to have a suppressed round it has to be subsonic, meaning it goes significantly slower than an average round. I think the team that always works with any Tom Clancy books does a very good job meshing reality with video games. Something that is clearly being lost these days.
I had one issue with wildland.. that is the coop server is horrendous. I think the Wildland story with Breakpoint infrastructure and game play would have made it better.
If Ubisoft would give modder's the full set of modding tools A LOT of their games would still be shipping a tone of units in 2024. Wildlands and Odyssey are two examples.
I don't know the answer to why I unlocked the Bad News during my journey to Tier 1, fun assault rifle, but I cannot use it in the DLC or in my other saved slots. Seems weird to me to get that during the grind and not have it 100% of the time. I'll agree it's such a great game, still doing the daily solo missions which is fun. Trying to figure out how to do them in the easiest way possible. I have all the rebel missions done and they do screw up some of those missions but all you can do is laugh. They are quite helpful though distracting Unidad though during regular play. Ghost mode is a hoot. Nerve racking.....save your save files helps though.
Wildlands was great, far better compared to Breakpoint because the Enviroment felt more "alive" - Breakpoint mostly looked like an abandoned world occupied by some sneaky enemies.
Always get bored with breakpoint. The environment ruins the game, too many fish and meat plants to clear, stupid animal noises and can't stand the driving...why change it!! I'm playing wildlands fallen ghost now and it's awesome.
I religiously come back to play Wildlands because I have fun however I will say it’s the buggiest game I’ve EVER played you’re guaranteed to run into bugs every single play session sometimes they’re game breaking
I never bought it for PC when it was new because after testing the trial version I immediatly saw that my PC wouldn't deal well with that game, just too low fps. Fast forward to 2024 and I thought it was about time to test it now that I have a PS5. I will say that I think Ubisoft have ruined a lot of games which is partially the reason why I've pushed this one on hold for so long, but that being said I will give credit where credit is due. I got this game about a week ago and I'll be honest and admit this is a very good game and I enjoy it a lot. I like the exploration aspect of it so I'm just taking my time trying to see and do as much as possible, without just running through it all. I also am only going to play this solo, and as it is getting harder and harder to find good games these days, I'm definitely not just going to plow through it. That said I still don't trust Ubisoft to not F up the next game, so we'll just have to wait and see if they can make something good again.
It was and is boring as hell. Lack of any incentive to kill enemies (in the form of loot of sorts) coupled with boneheaded progression made all the efforts that went into this game useless and miserable.
This game killed the Tom Clancy games, it’s a joke of a “tactical” shooter. Seige is bad, but at least it stuck closer to the old games style closer then this shit.
Just finished this game for the third time last week. Never played Breakpoint, was looking into it and found this video. Wildlands is such a great game!!
Wildlands has definitely a much better setting than breakpoint. Graphics is slowly getting behind with time but I still enjoy playing this game. And that is what ubisoft needs to understand. Breakpoint is ok, but npcs are almost extinct since they chose such a location. I spent around 50hrs in breakpoint and got bored, while in Wildlands i have 100+ hrs
*sigh*. Sitting here waiting for dipshit Ubisoft to turn on the servers so I can play Breakpoint. Guess I'm picking up Wildlands for when this garbage happens in the future.
