My sister was all of 15 years old with a young son and me at 13, living together in a basement suite when this album came out. Yes, she is a warrior woman with a kind heart and whom I love. She is a protector, my sister is.
I literally lost most of my family during these past 20 years and realized I lost the ones I loved the most and this song break my heart cause it hits me harder than it feels 😪
Beautiful canadian winter, with a beautiful spring coming around the corner... Tom cochrane will always be a canadian classic. Thanks for the good vibes you always bring
this summer, ill finally reach adulthood. this song really helps to reflect on my childhood and teenagehood. its always one of those weird things. you remember how when you were a kid, and you would always tell your mom and dad "when I grow up, I'm gonna be this." or "when I grow up, I'm gonna do that." you would always say "when." because to you at that time, adulthood seemed millions of years away. but what of it, when after all those years, the day you grow up actually comes around? then what do you do? I guess only time will tell.
... you keep on listening to TC and RR and keep making memories. I'm now 55 and started my "adulthood" With Red Rider blasting away in my old Z28 with my sweetheart and now loving wife of 30 years. This artist has been as much a part of my life as getting married and raising two great children. I wish he knew that....
Reminds me of the late eighties, growing up. I liked the nostalgic "feel" of it back then - now, it's my own nostalgic feeling that makes me like this song.
You see Americans Canada can make great music! Childhood memories right here! 1994 Pacific National Exhibition Vancouver BC, Tom Cochrane free show, one of the greatest nights of my entire life!
Put the van tape on Bay at the moon Rub each other down so good Forget about the tune that's playing Joan went east And she went west I stayed right here in the middle That's where I liked it best The good times we had Wouldn't worry about tomorrow Cause tonight was all we had The good times we knew I'd tell you about them baby But you were there, you were with me, too And it felt so good Funny how you look back on all the times we had Remember all the good ones, forget about all the bad Hanging out day after day in the hole in the wall Things that seem to be so big then now somehow seems so small The good times we had Wouldn't worry about tomorrow Cause tonight was all we had The good times we knew I'd tell you about them baby But you were there, you were with me, too The heart is a hunter, the heart is a friend Searching the shadows, searching 'til the end I heard she married a guy from the valley Not for the glory but because he was a friend When the fire burn out, and the waters run dry The mountains have fallen, we'll remember those times The seasons roll by, and the youth slips away The glory has faded, then what will we say? The good times we had Wouldn't worry about tomorrow Cause tonight was all we had The good times we knew I'd tell you about them baby But you were there, you were with me, too The good times we had Wouldn't worry about tomorrow Cause tonight was all we had The good times we knew I'd tell you about them baby But you were there, you were with me, too
Tom Cochrane is one of the true, genuine artists out. His voice carries through the decades, and will continue to do so. I have listened to this track countless times, and now, check out the comments. Would be an apt song to play at funeral, his words and voice consistently bring me tingles. Superb artist! Thank you for posting it, been in my Playlist for over 10 years. Take care everyone.
I remember seeing Tom and the boys back in July 1989 for the Victory Day tour in the old Northlands Agricom....This guy was the soundtrack of my youth, definitely "Good Times"!
I must have been 2 Years Old when I 1st Heard this song! it instantly became one of my Favorites Songs I'm 33 now going to be 34 soon! I still like going back to this Song!
In the late 1980s America had John Mellencamp, Australia had Jimmy Barnes and Canada had Tom Cochrane, similar voices and themes in all their music IMO.
Future Knight these guys paved the way for rock country.....but to me this is the real country music. the classic southern light rock. perfect for someone who loves to think and is laid back. perfect for deep minded individuals!
I recall these days 1988 beach in WRock young free and open ...good times or driving to my parents place back in the day all the way to the great white North Honestly I think about the traveling I did back then 1000's of Miles
Great song. Looked this up because on the way home on q107 today Kim Mitchell said he doesnt know why this song wasnt a bigger hit. A good version, more rare than this is a live acouostic recording on an old cd i have called "q107 campfire" google search it and u can find it.
Funny I am a classic rock junkie, and I never knew Tom was part of Red Rider. They made amazing music. Great lyrics and songwriting. Of course I new Lunatic Fringe, I was missing out on some great beats. Very underappreciated music.
does the opening of the song remind anyone else of super mario 64? i loved that sound when i played that game with my cousins as a kid. i never knew it then but it was the same song. i heard it over the intercom at work the other day and i stopped everything to just stand there and listen. there are truly good times that this song reminds me of.
Yeah man, CFMI is great, but recently i've been leaning to listening to a Victoria station called 100.3 The Q, more array of good modern rock mixed in with the classics. Give it a listen!
I find it really selfish from Tom to start calling the band Tom Cochrane & Red Rider while its name was still only Red Rider. But hey, the music's great, so i'll just enjoy it !
