Tom Cunliffe shares a secret stopover in France. He's stopped at a fishing port halfway along the D-Day beaches in Normandy, checking it for the next Shell Channel Pilot.

Thanks Tom, perfect you tube video. Nothing fancy, no kittens, just a couple of minutes of some bloke chatting about what he's into.

Another reason to go is it is the site of the most famous Royal Marine Commando raids to secure it during the 1944 landings. They had to march across land having had their Landing Craft land the wrong side of Gold beach and a lot of their Landing Craft Sunk, most swimming ashore without weapons. One other thing I notice is that it features in the fantastic aerial shot recreating the Free French Commando Landing on Sword Beach in the film the Longest Day. Pizza, Tom? Man you missed out on the Mussels there...
