Tom Ellis Pop Culture Icon Award Acceptance Speech - Lesley-Ann Brandt presents | 2021 HCA TV Awards 

I just stumbled upon this, but that's terrific. I'm very happy that Tom Ellis was recognized with that award. But if this were a just world, he would have several Emmy nominations for acting and at least a couple of wins. His acting was incredible in Lucifer, such range, and such ability to play the comedy and have us laughing in one instance, but then have us crying in another, with so many facets of the character Lucifer that he was able to bring to life. He plays that role with such charm and likeability that millions of people around the world fell in love with his devil. :) The fact that he is also a nice guy, icing on the cake. Great introduction by Lesley-Ann Brandt, who was also terrific in her part as Maze. Lauren German, amazing as well. The whole cast. The writing. The music in the show, which was such a wonderful part of it all.. I can't say enough about how great Lucifer is, one of my top ten TV shows of all time. It has been recognized by millions of fans all over the world. I wish it would get the recognition it deserves for its acting and writing from the industry of which it is a part. Maybe that's too much to ask for TV show of its genre, but the work is deserving of that honor. I also wish that someday, it will pop up again in some way, shape or form. It certainly hasn't worn out its welcome with fans. Never say never. :)

Lovely tribute by Lesley-Ann, just the way she speaks so effortlessly and lovingly about Tom shows how much they love one another and how strong their friendship bond actually is, and hopefully will remain as such for the rest of their lives. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one that completely broke down in tears watching the last scene between them, after all these two were the ones that were there from day one, and the fact that Lesley-Ann was almost crying when she mentioned their last scene shows how much she is going to miss Tom most of all considering how much they had in common. You can tell he truly means every word he says about everyone...especially the fans. What a fan-freaking-tastic 6 seasons this show has given us! (OK, I haven't seen season 6 yet but I know its going to be awesome) Love all the actors as well as the characters they played. I love this show and will forever be grateful to Netflix for continuing it and allowing the fans to see the series in its entirety.

Tom Ellis so much deserves this award - I fell in love with this series at the beginning of the pandemic and it helped me so much through this so rough time. I just dived into the story, I so often laughed out loud, something that nearly stopped during these long and somehow depressing months. "Lucifer" is funny and heartbreaking and every emotion between. And the acting of Tom Ellis increased more and more, sometimes it gave me chills - the joking, the flirting, but also the loneliness, the self-hatred, the double role as Lucifer and Michael - it took my breath away.... I so much hope, he will use this enormous talent for a lot more and remarkable roles which leed to many more awards in the future!!!! And a big thank you to Leslie-Ann Brandt for this special speech - so emotional and touching!
