Mr. Tom Fitzgerald, based on your feedback, I can understand how disappointing this season has been not only to us fans but also to you and this organization. I would like to remind the fans that firing people isn't always the answer. If we did that, we wouldn't see the future potential in this team. With that being said i believe Tom should be put on a 2 year probation and if this team dosent make it to at least the third round of the playoffs then the devils organization may have to part ways from Fitz. I, for one, did not see Jake Allen as a goaltending possibility for NJ, but I would wait this out and give him time to prove himself to this organization to show his true colors. The way his body language and how he was talking showed 100% lack of confidence and the stench of fear. Im hoping this organization turns things around. Thank you.
Allen will be an incredibly cheap back up for next year. Fitz also said he's trying to make a huge splash for a goalie this offseason. This team will be immensely better with a true starter and one more top 4 D-man to take the pressure off the kids.
It is 100% his fault the team failed. He takes easy over smart and weak over aggressive. His free agents are all overpaid. Mostly failures. Hamilton is a D liability that does not add up to his offense. Miere is over paid the MOST ! He is a top nine forward paid at top two. He's trash. Too streaky to be counted on at nearly 9 million. Players love NJ desperation. They pay more ! Expect less. Teams trash because of a timid coach and now GM. Poor Nico and Hughes Brothers. Wasting the best years for an organization that doesn't care to get better. Very San Jose of them. Good is good enough.
@ejf0255 I agree with you to an extent. As far as Timo goes I agree he is overpaid, and that might be an issue in the future. We would have to rely on miracle drafts and trading underpaid talent, with other underpaid talent and vice versa with overpaid talent it's honestly backward. At this point its up to the GM and the players for the most part for there the ones running this organization now. Hamilton was better than PK but we definitely overpaid for Hamilton, and he's not getting any younger plus he's not no 2000s Joe Thornton so Idk what there doing. I don't think we need to rebuild the team tho. We have allot of talent but we definitely need to make trades but wait for the right time and definitely swap out Fitz and other management if that time comes to pass. I really believe all glory is going to Boston and NY in the metro division you'd be metaphorically blind if said otherwise, no question.

As shown by his pathetic face off percentage, works way way better as a wing. He stays at C, he's going to never see 70 plus games a year. He's small. He is smaller now than year one. That's a concern. Or should be. They need GRIT ! Heart ! They give up or skate 10 min of periods. Not a good thing.

Even old arguments people used to defend Fitz don't hold water anymore. Like him getting Mercer & Baal for Taylor Hall. Mercer and Baal both suck. So who cares? Mercer is having a horrendous season. Completely irrelevant every single night. I don't even want them to offer him another contract. Especially since this failure of a GM will pay him twice what he's worth. Just like with awful Palat. Those big 9 goals for 6 million a year. What a bargain!

He did great? LOL!!!! 2 awful goalies and a bunch of worthless assorted crap. He turned Sharangovich into a 2025 2nd round draft pick in less than a year. That's great? LOL!!!
I hope you are joking. Vanacek has the WORST goaltending stats of every starting goalie. Tiffoli would have been an unrestricted free agent in the off-season. If you can't sign him to a multi-year contract, what do you do with him? Are you going to let him walk after this season and get NOTHING for him??
@adamsweeney6435 You gonna cry? Lindy orchestrated the most points this team ever put up in a season, and then bumped The Rangers to boot. In my opinion that should've bought him this injury plagued, GM mismanaged season.

If you think Fitz should give up Holtz or Mercer to fix problems mid season, hand in your devils jersey now because you don't know hockey 😂 Fitz has made nothing but solid moves. Maybe bigger return for Toffoli but otherwise, all great moves and not stupid reactionary moves.
