Overall it’s possibly more sophisticated. Leather definitely takes a back seat on this one. But it’s still there. The amber, vanilla and spice take over. All I would say, It is deceptively strong. Possibly projects better than the other 2, which I didn’t expect.
I was looking for a sweet leather scent for winter that wouldn't make me feel heavy. So I smelled Dombre Leather. Although it smelled like play dough to me when it opened, I loved the dry down.
Upon watching your review my immediate thoughts are that it has only a passing similarity to the OG. I think it smells like YSL Babycat. I really like it but think it could have been named something else entirely.
This one for me smells very, VERY appealing, something sophysticated and elegand but also pretty versatile. The problem is the performance, I wish it lasts a bit more, it's longevity and projection is on the average side
It’s not for me the dry down is nice but opening burst smells like candles very vanilla and would make me sick using it daily or even once a week. Only to be rewarded with an average projection & longevity once you get past the opening. The new eau Sauvage & eau d’hombre are a huge let down.
I can’t wait to try. I think it’s a good direction as the other two are fairly similar. I need you to try Xerjoff Tony Iommi Deified. Amazing leather scent!
I really like it. I used up some rewards points at my store and got the 50ml bottle for $60. I wore it out on a cooler evening a couple of weeks ago and got wafts of it all night. I prefer a softer leather and with the vanilla and spice it really works for me.
Love the new one. And they clearly stole the vanilla in it from Babycat. But it’s really good in my view. I like sweeter scents. This got me eight compliments in a day. Not the main reason to buy it but nice all the same.
A very good and strong and leather scent is Orchid Leather from VanCleeff and Arpels. It has a beautiful plum note with vanilla and leather. The new eau d ombre leather is like and introduction to beginners regarding leather notes. It's sweet with vanilla and spices but not so bold as the og that also had a jasmine sambac note if I'm not mistaken.
the first time i smelled it i didnt like it, but the more i wear it the more i like it...the opening is kinda synthetic but the dry down is super nice, just dont overspray
I don’t know about “can’t stand” but it’s definitely not my favorite, yes. I like this new version a bit more, I’d say. Not everything needs to “bite”.
