Tom Hanks speaks as part of the award presentation to Honorary Award recipient Jackie Chan at the 2016 Governors Awards in the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland in Hollywood, CA, Saturday, November 12.
@@venomsaxena196 too bad he didnt live long enough. but lets be honest, people would still love jackie more than bruce since people can relate more to him.
@@wolverineiscool7161 you people never retire to compete and criticize...... Let's say both of them ar legend. Action, Jackie Chan rules.... Real acting? It's always Mr. Hanks
Totally agree with your wonderful comment! Jackie Chan's story is inspiring because often, when we persist in doing our best, the accolades are sure to come. The dream of having an OSCAR came later, but it was a well-deserved recognition for all the effort to provide the best entertainment for audiences around the world. The OSCAR Committee did good in honoring Mr. Jackie Chan with this symbol of excellence.👏👏👏
+TheGuyWhoUsesGoogle Toy Story 4 maybe?...... Him portraying a Jackie Chan action figure or something like that would be nice, even if it's just for a couple of shots.
Tom Hanks is a true movie artist. He mentioned Buster Keaton. Jackie Chan's true idol is Buster Keaton instead of Bruce Lee. "I just want people to remember me like I remember Buster Keaton. When they talk about Buster Keaton or Gene Kelly, people say, 'Ah yes, they good.' Maybe one day, they remember Jackie Chan that way."
In all of Jackies movies, there is no single scene involving him in a kissing scene. Thats because he said he wants his movies to be watched by all age groups, not just a selected one. He is truly a legend.
Not true...Jackie has kissed several times on screen which is fine(he seems to be adept at that sort of stuntwork as well)...the last one i remember was in The Medallion. Final scene..(which just prompted an "ewww" from my 8 year old granddaughter) who BTW sees her parents swapping spit on a daily basis so no harm no foul.
The bloopers at the end of his films are what make us see the real work behind each scene. I think it was what made me admire him at the very first time I watched him on tv
this man has 56 years of acting carrer, some actors of today movies werent even born when he was throwing kicks and punches, this man definatly deserves his oscar
The legendary Jackie Chan is incredible, a huge star and he should have a thousand awards by now! He’s not just a martial arts movie star, he’s incredible and so down to earth. Risking his life for a movie, breaking his foot and still continuing the film a day later; he is phenomenal
this is so chan-tastic 😉 as a big fans of Jackie Chan, I'd like to say thank you to the Academy for noticing him as one of greatest actors in the world. please consider more Asian actors in the future 😊
@@thagrammarnazi I know this is 3 years old but I have to say, downloaded it like 2 weeks ago and finished all 5 seasons again through quarantine. AMAZING SHOW!!
Tom Hanks is capable of a better speech. A speech much more deserving that gives more seriousness, light heartedness and appreciation than this did. Jackie gave us endless joy and thrill. Overdue award even in 2016. He deserved it all.
I usually troll. But this one got me.. 2 of my favorite actors Tom Hanks and Jackie Chantastic are in conversation.. This was due long ago Jackie.. But Never too late.. You deserve every award on earth that's out there to be given.. I'm glad it came from Tom Hanks than any other. Congratulations. You are the best from East who stole billions of heart all the way to West.
Finally, for me he is the best actor there is I don’t care what people say I grew up watching all of he’s movies all the time and the best actor ever 🙌🏻🤘☝🏻🤜🏽🤛🏽✊🏻🤟🏼👌
it looks like jackie chan met tom Hanks before in academy awards 1996 it doesn't show pictures of them. but I remember back in 2014 jackie said he met robin Williams at the same awards and jackie mentioned that he was in the green room with lots of celebrities and he met all of them who ever was there they met the famous Jackie chan like nioclas cage, steven seagal, Kareem Abdul jabbar, will smith, jim carrey, Meryl Streep and many more at the academy awards 1996. it was amazing since I was young.
You know sometime we only remember an actor name only from his face and movie, no matter how good they are or how many Oscar they achieve, but Jackie Chan got his own place in every people heart in this world. Just like Michael Jackson.
How good would it be if Tom Hanks and Jackie have made a movie together. Tom Hanks is a good actor, he can do good light comey in Jackie's movie just like what he does in his earlier filmes. It would be so fun to watch.
my favorite chan movie is drunken master 2 he has so many but that movie ive watch the fight scenes so many times i can replay it easily in my thoughts frame by frame. when he fights the axe game that is in my eyes the greatest fight scene in movie history its so intense.
