I would hardly bet, that everyman that has seen the movie, in a special fitting moment...celebrates and imitating the fire monologue :). It is epic, heroic, and so satisfying :D

It's quite exhilarating when you can start fire after relying on lighters and matches for so long and managing to do with the way that it's been done for thousands of years when living in a modern era

any one else who found there self stranded on a tropical island would probably be dead in a couple of days, but not tom hanks, what a hero, and as i watched this brilliant film in the cinema who knew that a film about a man on his own surviving on not much more than his wits and his life skills would be this entertaining, he may be a fed ex man by day but i can only imagine that he`s a back door`s woodsman or whatever during the weekend, and ok you find yourself like mr hanks stuck some where extremely remote and literally without a paddle, i don`t care that you well maybe the sort of person who would give a member of the sas a run for his money, but without clean and pure drinking water, or at least a way to turn sea water into less salty stuff, and off course a cave full of food, even if what you have to survive on is mostly plants, fruit, and possible fish, without food you would eventually starve to death, while your body would probably rot away, if it`s cold at night without the ability to make fire, your possibly freeze to death depending upon where you found yourself, and off course if you cannot make a fire how would you cook the fish that you catch, i just hope that you really like sushi, if your clothes become ruined how would you make more, unless your a doctor how would you know whats wrong with you if you become ill, and without a first aid box you would have to make medicine out of the surrounding plants, what would you do about toothache, or a headache, and what happens if your diabetic, or have a heart problem or whatever, and for the ladies, being pregnant would be even more agony than it is now, it`s even possible that a simple wound not sewed up etc would go septic or whatever, and as all these castaway films etc seem to always have a nice cave to call home, what happens if there is no said cave, or indeed maybe not much to make a shelter out of, and what happens it the possible local native animals really like the taste of you, would you join them or not, at least turning cannibal on yourself would give you something to eat, and as the average human being has to consume a certain amount of calorie`s everyday just to survivie, depending upon just how much energy your body was using when you undertake physical tasks, you would have to replace lost energy by eating enough food, and if you are making a shelter, a fire, and gathering food etc, then what`s you tool making expertise like, and not everyone will be like tom and have a load of useful items wash up on shore, and how exactly do you keep yourself clean and dry, and maintain the level of personal hygiene that you so take for granted when your toilet may be a hole in the ground, and as someone who sometimes finds even simple tasks like brushing my teeth, or if i`m having a bad day, maybe even walking in a straight line will be beyond me, if i`m a castaway on a desert island, i would probably give myself a couple of months, and then my rotting corpse would end up on a shark`s dinner table.

Le pire c'est que n'importe qui finirais par parlé tous seul avec un ballon, c'est un enstin de survie. C'est cela qui va le garder en santé mentale d'une certaine façon. L'humain n'est pas fait pour être complètement seul mais c'est à cause de notre mode de vie. Mais L'humain s'adapte à tous .Ce films en est la preuve.

I cannot help wonder... if he set the whole island a blaze, or at least a small part of it, apart from putting his life in danger... would he be spotted, or tracked?
