Great interview again Ari, all these topics are so relevant, and Artists like Tom Hanks make me feel hopeful that the U.S. and all of us worldwide will overcome and rise above this moment in time. ❤🔥☮❤🔥
Two things: 1) I can't get enough of Ari Melber and for more reasons than I want to spend the time writing out. 2) I've always thought very well of Tom Hanks, but this was the first interview I've seen of his where he was given the opportunity to go deep and bring out some very solid nuggets of wisdom born of experience and knowledge. I feel enriched for having watched this interview.
@@justinarzola4584You're a liar, a dirty doggone liar! Maybe you were on that list or other lists, Justin? TFG Cult Members project all their issues onto others! Trolls gonna Troll!
@@justinarzola4584 The fake one that people's names magically appear on the moment they criticize Ron Watkins, the n@zi hype-man who tells you idiots what to think and believe? That list? 😂🤣🤣🤣😂
This man is a gift! Humble, honest, insightful, genuine, seasoned, funny….. and PRESENT! The lighting round proves it on so many levels! THANK YOU BOTH! That interview was a breath of fresh air!
I have seen Mr. Hanks interviewed many times over the years, but I have never enjoyed an interview with him more than this one. It is so natural and joyful in its presentation that one feels lifted. Mr. Melber inspires and navigates us through such a grande career of Mr. Hanks in a way that illuminates it’s breadth, while at the same time coloring it’s content richly. Thank you both!
Tom Hanks is one of the my favorites. I think my earliest memory of him was from “Bosom Buddies.” He masterfully talked on every comedic or serious role, sometimes injecting the perfect amount of comedy in dramatic movies. I just watched “A Man Named Otto,” and cried. Truly amazing.
Bosom Buddies was one of the dumbest sitcoms ever, yet Tom, and Peter Scolari made it pretty good, although I admit I think I watched for Donna Dixon more than anything.
Wonderful! Tears in my eyes. Thanks Tom! For some of my best memories. Thanks Ari. This was the best in depth interview I have ever listened to. Ari, you and your staff have outdone yourselves. ❤
This was great and didn't have to hear that former presidents name a hundred times. I've always loved Tom Hanks' work and his realness as a human(e) being.
This interview makes me want to buy every Tom Hanks movie and see them all again. If I see his name on anything I will watch it because he’s that good.
I don't usually like or comment on most news programs, but Ari this was skillfully and masterfully done. Tom Hanks is one of my favorites and you treated him with dignity and respect and I love how you interject hip hop into everything! Thanks for bringing the real out of one of my favorite actors and American characters. Always, Shannon
I freaking love Tom Hanks. Of course, as an actor, but more so as a human being. Humble and always giving credit to those behind the scenes who make it all work.
Tom Hanks gift is that his heart, his intellect and sense of humor if open to the universe and all that it has to offer...if one is✌✌🎈😎 ready to deal with it.
Recently I read the book "A Man Called Ove". I actually read it twice. I have never been so moved by a book in my 77 years. In the back of my mind I was thinking of my first wife who I was married to for 35 years and felt I knew and experienced and felt the kind of Love Ove felt for his wife Sonia. Then I allowed myself to watch the movie, "A Man called Otto" Tom Hanks made from the book. Both the book and the movie brought me to tears knowing I had experienced that kind of special love for another person in my life.
Love Hanks!!! A genuine gentleman!!! Intelligent and compassionate and entertaining!!! 💖👍🤗🥳 I taught my son not to hate. It's to critical and strong. Dislike isn't as critical.
There is no way I can pick a favorite movie of Mr. Hanks. That's an impossibility. Thank you for vall that you do Mr. Hanks. And thank you Ari for what you bring to us on MSNBC! Much love to both of you. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much for this extended interview! Tom is truly a treasure and I'm glad I've grown up with his marvelous roles -- been hanging out since Bosom Buddies 🤗🥰👍👍👍👍🍿🍿🍿🍿
A gem of an interview Ari. Tom Hanks is a national treasure. As soon as I saw his face in The Green Mile, in the montage, I burst into tears. When i saw him in Bosom Buddies I knew he was ‘special’
Thank you Ari for a fantastic interview. Catching Tom Hanks on the wrong foot, at the beginning, reference his novel was brilliant. Thank you Mr. Hanks for allowing us a glimpse into your world and how you perceive it.
Tom is perhaps my favorite actor. He has played roles that move me and bring forth my best instincts. Ari is a treasure. He is smart and inquisitive. This brings out great interviews/experiences. I feel blessed to know them both.
I bought Charlie Wilson’s War and have suggested many watch it. It’s still such a relevant movie to politics and war and the importance of transparency, what we say are our values and what we do.
what a fantastic segment.. thanks for putting it together (and all whom were part of that) and wow big thanks to Tom Hanks am a huge fan.. made today much better!!
I just want to say that we watch your program almost every night...and thanks for having the erudite Tom Hanks on your show - I have followed this man since Bosom Buddies and he never leaves you feeling you didn't get his all. Thanks and keep up the great work, sir.
This is the best interview I have ever seen! Tom Hanks is intelligent, open and doesn't answers all Ari's questions. He has real class. Ari is a talented interviewer, would asked great questions and was truly interested in the answers. It made this interview so informative and entertaining. 👍👍👍
Mr Hanks, I've been a fan of yours since Bosom Buddies (you and Peter Scalari were hilarious). Thank you for the amazing and impressive body of work. Here's to more!
Excellent interview for giving Tom Hanks questions that peeled off the layers of roles, and settings, and exposed how this actor has pulled it off and helped all of us realize better our common humanity.
Tom Hanks is one of those extremely rare individuals that you have seen many times throughout your life and each time you have seen or heard the person you appreciate them more, and they seem greater than they previously did. This is my favorite interview of 2023 by anyone.
Ari, l have spent countless hours watching your show on msnbc, but I must say your interview with Tom Hanks was the most enjoyable, informative, rewarding, and fulfilling of any guest on your show in memory, He is either one of the mostly genuine or best acting people you have interviewed. Thank you. I will even endure your numerous Rap guests to experience the likes of Tom. Dan Frank❤
Tom Hanks is a treasure, pure and simple. Great interview, because as much as I’ve seen and heard him being interviewed, I learned something new. Thanks for the insight.
One of the most exquisite interviews I've seen in a long time. Ari, you're always on point. I'm a white woman in my 60s who loves rap so I'm always watching you. I'm going to read this book. Thank you.
Saving for bed time. I was from Monterey Bay where Tom often golfed ❤ What a beautiful insightful philosophy. Intuition and empathy over qualities. Bravo.
Excellent interview. Both participating people are thoughtful, eloquent men. I think Mr. Hanks is an excellent actor, writer, speaker author and, above all, a person who uses his intelligence well and expressez himself in terms everyone can understand.
Ari Melber is right up there one of the most thoughtful interviewers/hosts in mainstream US media. His questions and comments are always insightful and seemingly low key. Yes, has has a list of questions, but you feel that he has the mental flexibility to react to what his guest is saying; that he actually listens and responds to what his guest is saying. Here, without being gushing in his (and our) admiration, his questions gave Tom Hanks the man the space to show why we like and admire Tom Hanks the actor so much. This interview should be included in a media course.
Tom Hanks Is One Of My Favorite Actors Ever He's Just An Awesome Human Being I Wish More People Were As Nice As He Is He's So Positive He Has The Kind Of Attitude We All Should Have!
Ari - I absolutely loved this interview with the great Tom Hanks, so, thank you *BOTH* !! Tom is absolutely an American Treasure (as Robin Costa wrote 20 hours ago) and he has made *SO* many enjoyable movies .... since I'm a first generation Beatles fan, That Thing You Do! is near the top of my Tom Hanks Favorites list and ditto for Joe Versus The Volcano, which is near and dear to my heart. And, Meg Ryan wonderfully plays 3 characters in the latter.
What a sweet man, I love Tom Hanks, such a gentle soul. Thanks so much Mr Hanks and Mr Ari Melber, lots of love, God bless you!!!❤😄Life is like a box of chocolates.......😂I love it! Brilliant actor!.
