0:42 trying to find that clip was like trying to find bloody Narnia! ALSO ffs, didn’t think I’d have to clear this up. Do none of you understand sarcasm? Tom is not gay he’s married with multiple kids, he said he was gay in the first clip SARCASTICALLY! The interviewer said if he was jealous Idris sat next to Beyonce and Tom clearly didn’t care so thought he’d make a joke out of it as it was a pointless question.
That wasn’t fair in the slightest, he changed what the journalist was asking him and the journalist just kind of went withit and then he Shut down the question that the journalist wasn’t even asking in the first place
@@DJHermeler That sounds like a massive deflection. Also, what are you rambling about? When were straight white men hunting down anyone that wasn't straight, and then interrogating, mutilating, torturing, and then killing them? Do you want to stick to the actual point?
He's joking the whole time. It's English humor that doesn't mix well with the "always trying to please" attitude that Americans have. Even worse the hyper "always trying to please" attitude that hollywood has.
a f u kin overrated narcissistic liar :D guys a joke, a 1 trick pony, all bark and no bite. everyone knows now what happened on the making of mad max, and yet he lies again. pathetic. 5:16 . and im not a feminist at all. also not pro gay but if hes into boys also, why did he need to belittle the gay journalist? he asked a legit question. zero talent, plays the same character again and again.
@Hans Coventrierengemacht everyone appears to be "an asshole" when needing to defend themselves. Just leave em in a situation where they DO NOT have to be defensive and see how wonderful they can be. Not every 'troll' is a real troll, some are just targeted ..set up ...and having no choice but to defend themselves.
@@samkell4827 it did he implied that this was the fastest he could do, I mean it is obvious that if he reads it aloud he is trying to say it fast, the question was unnecessary and a bit rude like saying "that wasn't fast I'm sure you can do better"
The interviewer who didn't know who Tom was is the most second hand embarrassment I have ever felt. Just the dead silent stare in complete confusion that she had was just so damn uncomfortable.
I can kinda see it, especially if she’s around new faces all day. They both have thin eyebrows, chiseled jawlines and pointy noses, but that was still pretty uncomfortable 😂
I mean how do you not even know who you are interviewing :D Tom Hardy is such a big star and the interviewer should for sure know the people he/she is interviewing...
@@sregan5415 I definitely got the sense that she was a bit bemused, at the very least. Like a "did that really just happen" expression. Dumb question and a really fuckin' dumb way of phrasing it...
I legit thought the question was going to be completely different. Maybe he was gonna ask about what femininity means to the film? But nah, he just asked how it felt like being around women. What a creep
First he make a pejorative comment to be "around of strogen" and then he cames with idea that "it's suposed to be a men's movie"... There's no excuse for a reporter act like this in that context
Tom: "Are you asking me about my sexuality?" Reporter: *sure* Tom: "Why?" Reporter: loss for words Tom: "Thanks" Edit: Thank you for the 1.5k likes, I posted this comment as I believe that ones personal life, is personal. There is no need to ask questions like these, in order to give hope to those that need the support of taking the path they took about their sexual orientation (or gender related for the matter), for that we need more social workers and a more open minded public to help educate people about the matter and to not judge people based on their decisions. We need to make social services more accessible, so they could help them navigate through their life and empower them, despite the hate/rejection/publics opinion that they may come across in their life.
I am confused as to why this is funny to you all? The reporter originally wasn't asking about Tom's sexuality. He was asking about generally if it is difficult to discuss one's sexuality in hollywood. Tom could have interpreted that as difficulties coming out publicly, fear of being typecast, fear of losing any hyper-religious fans, family members may not know. There were many ways to honestly answer that question and he chose to get weirdly defensive. That's what I saw watching this was a man who pretends to be big and strong and intimidating but it extremely weak and fragile emotionally. When the guy said he didn't play many comedic roles he jumped down is throat and kept making this uncomfortable laugh, and then Tom and his costar just bullied this middle-aged man trying to do his job for like 5-10 minutes. Nothing the guy really said was hateful. He asked a question about a verifiable fact and Tom clutched his pearls and twisted his words. Idris Elba said something (I assume in an attempt to help that reporter discern the truth) and Tom corrected him and made him feel awkward for no reason. That type of stuff may pass for humor with a lot of you social derelicts on RU-vid, but for those of us who are familiar, this just looks like a sad, uncomfortable stew of pathologies to me, "mate".
Interviewer: No shit, as an actor I’d be surprised if you couldn’t read words on a page aloud I’m asking is that the fastest you can read the sentence clearly.
Ronnie Grace it’s British humour. Its he answers with a dead pan face. And I think people struggle with that. Is he being sarcastic? is it satire? These interviewers just don’t get him at all. Lol!
Believe me it's his deadpan humour, us in England call it a dry sense of humour which is hilarious. His the funniest sweetest man, on his days of he goes to the animal shelter so the dogs in their have human interaction..he sits on the floor playing with them for hours, breaks his heart he can't adopt them all but he already has dogs that his got from a shelter home.

You can tell Tom Hardy is a man who's very much aware of - and probably not ashamed of - his shadow. Very firm and strong character. A little intimidating to encounter I imagine.
I think in Hollywood where actors resorts to coping with sociatal pressure & media takedown that would be image slandering, with coke, drugs, random insignificant others to cope with loneliness, i dont blame him for being as firm as he is. People can wrote shit about you but in actuality you are just staying in your house & can cause a rift in your family if you're married.
@@GuyFromTheSouth British are indeed rude, but at least they have an excuse...that it is British humor :) They're violent kind, easy to piss the off and get a punch in your face when you least expect.
Hardy looks really intimidating, but when you see him with dogs he's the biggest sweetheart in the world. He's gorgeous, I've rarely seen a man as charming as him.
@@elriane94 I'll explain it since you're too intellectually indolent to ascertain. Just because someone likes animals doesn't mean they're a good person. Have you ever heard of World War 2? Okay...
@@elriane94 Also, look at your attitude. You tell a guy "sorry" as if you're the judge of everything. I think men placating to you and telling you you're right to get laid has gone to your head.

Really? Hollywood films can convert ordinary people (with “drama school” backgrounds) into heroes. They just might shit their pants in real life crisis situations. In addition, anyone with confidence and a brain should not be intimidated.
@@commanderthorkilj.amundsen3426to be fair, as an MMA practitioner, Hardy has really nice jiu-jitsu and boxing for an actor, he's not a Hollywood pussy
I'd be happy but certainly not intimidated. He is a man - that is all. There are very few people I would be star-struck by but even so, one must remember, at the end of the day, they are just people too.
Riz is too kind to roast. he was just being in the middle of the energy of Tom and interviewer, to prevent full explosion Smart guy (Riz is) also very willing to quell the fire....they lucked out having him on Rogue One and Venom.
I think what you mean is we all need a playdate with the both of them. And I don't mean it in a nasty way. I know where all your filthy minds went immediately
They do that on purpose, and very few times it's by mistake or for lacking professionalism. You can see the two types in this video. There are journalists/interviewers/paparazzi who insult or poke at the celebrities for the sole purpose of getting a reaction. They throw questions when the celebrities have their guard down, in case they get a juicy response. They even make racist/discriminating remarks to their faces, basically begging to get hit so they can make news out of it. That's why most of them sound stupid. For the remaining ones, they're actually just stupid.
@@stormcorrosion176 So many. We have the Suspiria remake, then A Quiet Place, Possum, Apostle, Hereditary, Cam; if you want something foreign then there's The Wailing, Train to Busan, Ich Seh Ich Seh, Let the Right one in, Raw, and so many more.
I agree with you Amicus and I wish we could go back to those days. But unfortunately today, we are made aware of the sexuality of the cast before we are even made aware of the plot!
Reporters better come prepared with super-awesome questions the next time they interview Tom! And come on, how did this lady not know which one Tom is?! She probably just assumed that the clean-shaven, properly dressed, charming guy was the Hollywood actor; and the bearded, bald, tattooed guy was the stunt man :)))
while the woman was really too much unprepared you clearly have no idea how press works. We do not have the time to think about "super-awesome questions". We have dozens of interviews, meetings and press conferences. We can not prepare 100% all the time for each topic. We are send to interviews with people we never heard of, with topics we have no interest in or are super complex and need to a lot of time to write down. So give her a break.
please don’t forget that celebrities are still human beings who deserve the same respect as you and i do. just because tom is a public figure with a platform, doesn’t mean it’s okay to ask disrespectful questions or say rude things. i understand why he tells reporters or interviewers that their questions are dumb and he (and every other public figure) have every right to. (this isn’t targeted to the person who made this video bc i actually really enjoyed it and shows that tom is a normal person like us) thanks for coming to my ted talk and stan tom hardy
I like Tom Hardy and his interviews are interesting to listen to, but he isn't really professional. He comes off rude to people who are just trying to do their jobs. Even if the interviewer messes up, a celebrity shouldn't make a big deal out of it and should actually help him/her out. The only rude one here is Tom, but I do admit his interviews can be real funny :D
Kapeesh an interviewer can still do their job without asking him rude or very personal questions (for example about being a ‘skype dad’ or about his sexuality) Tom has every right to shut them down because he does not have to sit there and just take it. though there’s plenty of interviews where Tom is an absolute sweetheart and answers all the questions with love, this video however just shows a few of the more ‘negative’ moments where for some people comes of as unprofessional but i think it’s a good thing to show that even celebrities have their ‘bad’ moments because they can’t look perfect all of the time but i agree with you it is funny to watch
i don't know what i consider to be funnier, the fucked up dumb questions some people ask, tom hardys reaction to them or your sarcasm in naming the video.
that clip from the Tiff.40 thing was a brilliant answer from Tom Hardy... why? Thank you. Just spot on, why would it be important to know the sexuality of someone specially celebrities.
