until I knew Tom Hiddleston I thought no human being could be perfect... but I can't find anything on him that's not completely adorable. love this man. his attitude, his honesty, his warmness, his life-affirming ways... should I go on? could fill books with this... ;)
***** I don't know him as a friend? Ouch, you found my sore point...^^ sure, even he must have his weakness, but I have the sense that he tries really hard to be a person that makes the world a little better. and that's maybe the reason why I admire him so much. I'm sure he has his faults, but his heart is so full of love that I would not accuse him of them. he may not be flawless, but for me he's a great inspiring example and really close to perfection :)
Tom Hiddleston is undoubtedly a beautiful man in the physical sense but his mind, his personality, his... his very being is even more beautiful. Its his kindness, his eloquence, his elegance, his intelligence, his thoughtfulness, his honesty, his optimism, his love of life and the pure compassion he radiates that makes me admire him the way I do. I can only aspire to be more like him.
Natalou You are so right I couldn't have put it in a better way. It was definitely his compassionate kind personality that caught my eye more than anything.
Let's focus on what's important here people - and that's raising awareness for child hunger. It doesn't matter where this was filmed or how good looking he is. But I do greatly respect his support of UNICEF.
But you have to admire the genius here - the man has an army of besotted women (and men) with an almost stalkerish interest in everything about him. What better marketing tool for a good cause, than to let them have a glimpse inside the good-looking man's apartment - it gets people to watch the video, and listen to the message. Well done marketing team. XD
This man exudes decency from every pore.Much credit to his mother for imbuing such fine qualities in the man.The description from Darth Natalou is so eloquent and spot on.I like the fact that Tom often talks about compassion....a good basis for leading a good life.I hope he never "believes his own publicity"and stays true to himself and grounded. All in all,a beautiful person inside and out.
Tom is the most genuinely good, kind hearted and modest man. He is so giving and generous, and deserves all the good that has and will come his way. Thanks for being such an amazing role model Tom
I applaude him for taking on this challenge and being so active with humanitarian work with UNICEF,it's one of the reasons I love him, however the entire time he was talking all I could do was look at his chest peeping through the V of his top #swoon
How can a video of him that is so simple, so pure, so unspectacular, so normal ..... be so extraordinary and great and beautiful that one would love to crawl into it. He's just wow. This simple movement to take a plate out of the cupboard.....I have NO idea why my heart almost stops there. BUT ABOVE ALL it is so unbelievable with what dedication and what great heart he spreads this message to "us", who throw away food every day, because it may not taste that good or have been open for 1 day, and reminds us and draws attention that in Africa, South America, India and so many other countries people and especially children are still starving and dying. This man has my fullest respect. I just love him for who he is.....not WHAT he is.
I used to live near this man in London but I didn't know abt him back then. Now I regret moving away... And if only... If only... I could live with him in that sweet little house, we call 'home'. Ah, my imagination is wonderful. If only it was real.
I did the challenge right along with him. Same menu. It is not easy but extremely edifying. Thanks to Tom for spreading the word that abstract compassion is no longer enough.
There have been times where I've purposely gone hungry just so I can put gas in my vehicle so I can go to work. Then I became pregnant and it made things a whole lot different. I still struggle every day to have proper nutrition so my daughter can grow, even with now getting food stamps (they give me $58 a month, not counting my unborn child as a person), and WIC so I can drink milk and eat fruit/vegetables for a week. 2 if I stretch it. Government assistance isn't enough. I'm grateful I'm getting something, but it's still hard. Thanks Tom for showing this awareness. If there is the time where I can only afford food FOR my child, I'm making sure she eats. I don't have to. As long as she grows, I'll be fine.
Tom is such a good person with a wonderful personality. I'm not saying that I'd like people to be like him, but I wish that more people can see how good he is and be a lot more passionate and generous. I myself aspire to be more like him, and I can already see how much of an impact he really is to a ton of fans :)
He has an amazing heart to do so much for people that have nothing. I have to try this challenge. Fantastic man and gorgeous either as Loki or himself, or King Henry V, or anything else he does! Amazing actor with a huge heart.
People need to stop with the perfection thing. No, of course he's not perfect. No human being is. The important thing is to fight your demons and try to make a positive impact in the world, not to be faultless or flawless. Tom Hiddleston is not God, but he definitely does make a positive impact in the world. Ever since I have been following him, I've read of people who abandoned suicidal thoughts because his optimism encouraged them. I have started donating to charities because of his encouragement myself. He has the right ideas about life, positivism, and compassion, and he expresses them eloquently enough to give you a positive outlook on life when you're feeling down. I think this is how people should use their fame, to reach many people and touch them in a positive way. So that's what I think. No he's not perfect, but he sure as hell is admirable, and he's a great actor with a brilliant career so far and amazing things for him in the future. May he live a long life full of blessings.
Tom's an amazing guy, it is fantastic that he does so much work with children's charities! Food, and the money to buy it with, is something too many of us take for granted. I think this is something that everyone could stand to engage in, just to breed empathy if nothing else. There is enough food in the world to feed everyone; but there is not enough money to pay for it. And that is a pretty poor excuse to let a child go hungry. Also - yes, Tom is extremely handsome, yes, I replayed the video about 15 times to get a good look at his kitchen, and no, I don't think there's anything wrong with talking about it! (In fact, I think it was a genius move to set the video there, because it ensures that people will watch it and spread it! Well done, marketing team!)
If this means that poor starving children in poor, low income countries can eat a full meal then I am more than willing to do this. God bless you Tom and God bless UNICHEF UK
I don't need a challenge to do this. That is my life. Sadly. On a personal note I think it would be a good thing if all the politicians in our government had to live like this for a certain amount of time to better understand what it's like for those who have no choice to.
***** For food, yes. Also, for the argument of how one can have a computer while being poor have you ever heard of loans? I got one that took years to pay off where others can just go drop a wad and get a new one and when this one dies it would not be easy to replace. It's also possible to receive things as a gift from richer friends. Some of the upgrades in mine have been donated parts from friends who got better ones for theirs. Some people survive on donations from others believe it or not. Never assume. It makes you look bad.
iammadness people in developed countries have a hard time believing there are poor people living near them...It is much easier to accept that poverty is someone else's problem. Canada has the wealthiest middle class in the world, and yet there are First Nations people who do have access to the internet (fixed economic costs - one time only, accessible in schhols or library) and struggle to bring in good food to their reserve. People would rather believe that if a person is in that state they are unmotivated.
Crystal Ward Unfortunately true. I wonder how many people realize there are people in North America who are starving to death. Would they believe you if you told them?
It's quite public in the news here (Canada, not sure about the US). I think there was a lot of cultural misunderstanding in how to best merge some very distinct ethnicities across a vast landscape. The perception that residential schools were out of malice against the people first living here is not quite accurate. Children back in Europe experienced similar "educations" during the 1800s as well. That however does not justify what happened as the trauma persists through generations.
It's his birthday, 2.9.20, today, that I found this...Really touched me. He's a humble man, who wants to help hurting & hungry children. God's blessing is on him. I keep him in my prayers.
This is only one of infinite reasons of why I love him. His inside and outside. His personality, his attitude, his everything. I could do a Bible with the all the reasons why I love him. He's trully cute, adorable, ELEGANT, handsome, and his job with Unicef is brlliant. I thought nobody was perfect, but then I knew about him. How's this french expression?? He's UNIQUE.
awhhh Tom hiddlestons such A gentleman :D such a nice down to earth guy with a heart of gold and amazing personality he shows all the time to others Toms got such a caring nature really proud He worked with Uncief and rasied awareness for them and did all this charity work Great assert to charity work such a loving man Soo gorgeous and attractive who doesn't love him I love him so much I'm proud to a hiddlestoner and be part of him :) and be his number one fan Such a talented actor :D so smart and intelligent :) I just wanna hug him he's so darn cute and adorable I can't enough of his smile It's darn sweet and adorable it makes me day to know he's happy and to see him smile I always watch Tom hiddlestons interviews or videos of him when in down because he makes me smile :) ♥♥♥♥ Love yaa tom Kisses and hugs from me Don't ever stop being you Your a perfect role model to your Fan's
I'm already "living below the line". Unemployed for most of the past 3 years, savings depleted. I only hope I get a decent job again soon so I can start helping others less fortunate than me again. Thank you Tom & UNICEF-UK for doing all you can for the children & their families.
wow ! he is one of the most incredible and inspirational men i have ever known. he chooses to do this , he has enough money i'm sure , but he cares so much about those who have to make the unfortunate choice of what little that they can eat, and supports them. You are both beautiful in so many ways but also an incredible actor and human being
With famine in 20 countries during this 2020 global pandemic, it’s time to contribute all we can to UNICEF and Save the Children. Thank you, Mr. Hiddleston, and time to make a current fundraising video.
I have trouble finding even a pound of food to eat a day but I would gladly give it up to children who have even less than that. UNICEF does amazing work.
Oh, the oven mitts. What a cutie! On a serious note, though, Tom is the embodiment of the very concept of what it means to be a true gentleman. What a genuine, sweet, gentle soul.
I'm going to do the challenge, Tom inspired me as he definitely inspired lots of other people! c: You truly are an inspiration to us all, Tom! We love you for doing this! /Frida from Norway
we need more men like tom in this world. not for the hiddles-crazed fangirls, but to help make this a better place for everyone. god bless tom and everyone else who is doing their best to help this world!
I think it's pretty amazing that he did this by choice. Having had to live like this for a 6 months (obviously not by choice) I think it's really great that he did this.
A worthy cause UNICEF! I believe I will take the challenge as Thomas stated between the 29th of April and the 3rd of May. Spread the word everyone! The least we can do is show some support!
I'm crying. This man. This beautiful charming courageous man is grateful for a potato. Truly one of a kind actor for doing a hard challenge! Love you much Tom and us fans are very proud of you!
I'm very proud of him for sticking it out through this challenge. I wouldn't be able to stick it out. I am with NewMommii3 when it comes to loving how he couldn't concentrate due to being so hungry. Poor baby.
As a current Interior Design student, I'm slightly disappointed his home isn't more grand and regal! Haha! For some reason I've always imagined him living in a place with hints of the English renaissance, not De Stijl. I swear.. this man is always full of surprises. :)
It is a shame that so many children in this world have to live in such horrible conditions. I've been engaging in many volunteer works throughout the years and was faced with situations I would never imagined to be possible. Still, I always have the feeling I’m still not doing enough. It is beautiful to see personalities such as Mr. Hiddleston helping to make people aware of the importance in taking action to change this sad reality.
Yes guys, its Tom (and quite possibly Luke) in his cute little kitchen, and that's awesome but COMPLETELY off the point! Remember who's page this video came from? Right--the Unicef UK page. I get that we all love and adore Tom, and we're proud of him, but can we try to contain the fangirling for at least a little while and focus on the reason he was in this video and doing this Challenge in the first place! Keep it together, guys!
I think I'm gonna do the challenge even if it's not running by now. It it a great opportunity to remind myself about others is the world that aren't as lucky as me.
