I don’t know about a Jackie Wilson and Tom Jones duet but I really respect the depth of your musical knowledge and appreciation. Thanks for putting that together and putting it into my head.
Tom Jones is great I think he should have stuck with this kind of music, he has mentioned this himself, I also think that this was him at his best live at the BBC the orchestra was great and matched the flow of the song, good reaction to a great song. 🇬🇧
I’m tossing out another vote for “Delilah”. He really belts it out in that one. My Grandmother loved Tom Jones… but I think it was for more than just his remarkable voice. Grandpa hated him, ha ha. 👍
Here’s Tom singing the same song live, 37 years later: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p-hVukDfZ-8.html And here’s the kind of stuff Tom is doing now in his 80’s, doing an Albert King classic and the way that magnificent voice has matured: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qIO8z4yOA8w.html
An other song you may want to listen to is "The Green Green Grass of Home". Is another number he sings from the heart. The background story is a sad one though, so you may want to read up on the lyrics first. If you listen to it carefully you can feel the pain, like this song but in another context
Check out the Tom Jones show I think it was in 1970... He had all different types of singers on his show as guests... He did a duet with Aretha Franklin and one with Wilson Pickett that was out of this world... Also check Tom Jones out on recent episodes of The Voice as a judge he does duets on there and singles and check out him and Jennifer Hudson on the show doing it's a man's world it is phenomenal! 80 years old and the man sings like he's never skipped a beat! 😊❤
Tom also got up and did a song a duet with one of the contestants can't remember what season it was in but it wasn't too far back, The song was cry for me, it was really good
