Eventually she probably won’t see her family isolating her further so she HAS to “rely” on him. If she’s not working he’ll control money too. Trying to make her have a family instead of concentrating on her career meaning, that she will be at home all day, Tom knowing exactly where she is. The next stage will be technology to watch her every move. We’ve already seen Tom injure himself just to get Belles attention then belittle her for wasting the docs time.

That’s exactly what he wants all Belles attention doesn’t want her to mix with family or friends,have a career. He wants her to have to completely rely on him. He’ll start watching everywhere she goes and everyone she’s speaks to, gradually turning her away from family and friends.

She won’t see through it though, she’ll just apologise (again) each time he belittles her will chip away at her confidence until she’s a shadow of her former self. That’s wat cohesive abuse does.

It’s all about control belittling her family aswell as her is part of isolating her from them. He wants total control over what Belle does, her every move, doesn’t want her having a career he’s already saying he earns enough without her working. All part of keeping her at home and slowly eating away at her confidence. She will gradually become a shell of herself.
