Tom, it's because you switched your sneak and sprint keys. People say hold shift because that is the default sneak key.

There is a reason that there are gold blocks and gold items around ruined portals, but it's not related to the portal, but rather is an indication of the important role of gold in the nether. A role I won't spoil.

ur best bet with portals is to just leave them where you light them. When you break a portal, it messes up the link between the portals. and the game bugs out and generates a new portal. Its more complicated than that but its hard to explain. and btw, gold has nothing to do with portals, its just part of the design in the ruined portal structures

Now that you can build bridges with the Ctrl key, you can paint the nether red!

At 18:03 you killed it

Monsters and animals follow spawn and despawn rules. So after about 32 block radius, "mobs" as all living things are called, will randomly spawn and despawn, but hostiles need a light level of 0 (complete darkness). If they haven't been tagged with "persistence" (luring animals with respective food type, breeding, name tagging, etc. tags them as permanent mobs) then they will despawn. If you are 128 blocks away from a mob, they will instantly despawn. Using these mechanisms, we can farm almost every mob in the game.

*A riddle about those flying monsters:* They say that three is lucky, so I stayed up for them. But then hell came down upon me, until I slept again.

Enchanting is definitely a good idea even if a little RNG based. Also, you should check the recipe book for things you may have glossed over

Your portal in the nether is in the only location in the area that it can be, because it is surrounded by solid blocks or open air

for the crops its not stepping but jumping thats bad for your crops, it doesn't effect growth rate it has a chance to convert the farmland back to dirt destroying the pant on the converted block
