You totally missed the message in this video. He's not telling the world he's the best, he's telling his inner demons and insecurities he's the best. It's self talk so he can continue to push past his doubts.

I feel you totally missed the point of the song and video. It's about battling your inner demons. It's about depression and anxiety. It's about fighting back with that part of yourself that tells you aren't worth anything. That no one cares about you. That nothing you do will be good enough. Him saying he's the "best rapper ever" isn't him flexing....it is him motivating himself to conquer that demon inside him telling him he sucks. Listen again.

I mean I feel like it’s obvious that he’s not telling OTHER people that he’s the best rapper ever, he’s telling HIMSELF that so that he doesn’t let his negative emotions get the best of him.

Update : he not only dropped this on the day Em dropped he fucking topped him at #1 on the iTunes chart. Unbelievable.

Shout out to Tom for speaking his greatness into existence..

Best part is this morning he was trending #1. he charted above all Eminem’s songs on his new album

I feel this vid is of him telling himself he's BETTER than what his DEMONS are telling himself. we ALL go through that, and this vid HIT me because I FEEL this vid. I have had those kinds of internal battles.

You committed the cardinal sin of completely missed the point of this man's bars. You have to tell yourself that you are the best in the game, or else that will never materialize. You're not seeing this as his struggle, as he's portrayed as himself fighting his inner demon that he fights with on the daily. Or else that demon wins and he fades to being nothing. That demon tells him he is trash, that demon tells him he needs substances, that demon tells him that he cannot do anything without its say so. The duality of putting out great hits, all without label help, all on his and Nova's own expertise, coupled with the negativity of having to deal directly with any and all bad hits, comments, and controversy. That anxiety, that inadequacy. You missed the point entirely.

I see this as Tom telling himself he's the best rapper ever to reinforce this in his own mind when his demons show up telling him the opposite. I see this as him fighting with himself not bragging that he is the best rapper ever . Brilliant video but sadly I feel the point of this may be lost on many.

It's the conversations you have to have with yourself, people have been getting the wrong idea about his message. If you watch his FB live posts every time he says "best rapper ever" it is in air quotes. If your not going to believe you can be the best you have already failed yourself. ....Craig....🙄

Tom's telling his demon that he is the best rapper ever and if you listen carefully he States he is not the greatest and he does say that he is not Eminem.
