I can definitely relate fighting with the demons in my head. I know he is doubting himself but he just doesn't realize how great he really is. Sometimes we pay attention to the negative more than the positive in our lives especially if we have an addiction to something. And the more we fix ourselves the more demons pop up and try to knock you back down to their level. You just got to get back up dust yourself off and keep fighting!! Got to admit though it's hard but there will be a break through and it feels AWESOME!!

I haven't listened to hip hop on the regular since I was in high school in the early 2000s but I discovered Tom a week ago, went on a deep dive, and am now watching all the reaction vids. This video of his does a great job of juxtaposing fighting one's inner demons vs having an internal mantra of being great which is something you need to make it in the rap game.

I'm 54. I have been writing music for the last 7 years. I taught myself how to play chords on a guitar. Everytime I pick up the guitar and write, I fight this. I haven't stopped yet because my devil is also my EGO. Notice how his demon always sings the hook with him. The Best Rapper Ever.

Tom absolutely nailed it. I'm a recovering addict and I know how it feels to have those voices, those demons constantly telling you your worthless, your a burden, trying to beat you down. Your never recovered you always will be in recovery. It's been 4 years and every day is a battle. Hes so brave for sharing what hes feeling for those of us who are dealing with depression and addiction.
