Tom can speak the truth & use humor because if you laugh, you've lowered your defenses just a little bit & you might actually listen instead of instantly putting up barriers. It is the same thing in comedy. People like Bill Burr or Doug Stanhope can say things which would normally be seen as horribly offensive, but open a door to actually looking at the issues by making people laugh. The jester was the one guy who could tell the king what an asshole he was.
The fact that he and his GF Nova does all videos themselves don't hire anyone, he got his sister to be the news anchor next to him in this video is so awesome!
